When I get this error, it's often a problem with the phone line wiring. Sometimes, it is the phone itself.

I like to use a spare corded phone and a new RJ-11 cord to localize the problem. First, try using the spare phone at the jack where the Panasonic base is plugged in. If you get a dial tone with the spare phone, try the new RJ-11 cable with the phone. If there is still no dial tone, then the phone needs repair or replacement.

If you do not have dial tone with the spare phone, try the test phone at another jack on that phone line.If there is dial tone, there is a problem with the first jack. You will need to open the jack and check the wiring. These are either keystones jacks or screw terminals. The keystone type require a special tool to press the wires into the terminal block. This is available at many hardware stores in the electrical wiring aisle (with the keystones and wires for whole house video/telecommunications access).

If you still have no dial tone, find the telephone access box. If you are lucky, that box has RJ-11 jacks so that you can test the line. If there is still no dial tone, contact your phone company. Outside line problems will be fixed by your provider.

If you have dial tone at the access box, you have a wiring problem somewhere inside. You can try to track the wires in any exposed area for signs of damage. You might want to call a professional to check the wires in the wall. Your phone company will do this for a fee.

I hope this helps.

(my own phones gave "Line In Use" when a contractor damaged a wire digging in the wrong spot and when mice got to the underground lines outside. Those problems were fixed by the phone company.)

I not have manual for Uniden dect 6 cordless phone on my phone I can't get any dial tone,I think I pressed a button on the phone either mute, intercom or redial, how to reset phone

If you have no dial tone the problem is most likely the base station has failed, nothing you can do will kill the dial tone (no button you pushed etc.) except a failed base station.

Hii myy phone doesn't want to chang to touch tone what do i do? it is a uniden dect 6.0

You didn't specify the model of your phone, but on many Uniden phones the choice between pulse and tone dialing is on the main menu.

Select the model of your phone from the list beginning at
http://www.uniden.com/owners-manuals/dect-phones/scat/dectphones_mnl/
to get the manual.

Panasonic Dect 6.0 Plus has stopped working. It was working fine, but now the receiver doesn't hold a charge, and I can't get dial tone.

The rechargeable battery pack in the receiver needs to be changed, replace with genuine for optimal performance.

I have a Emerson DECT 6.0 with 3 head sets and i cant get the dial tone back from pulse.

It was easy for my Emerson Dect 6.0 to be switched either rotary / pulse by just pressing the "FLASH" button for 3 seconds until it beeped. Problem solved.

Or if that doesn't work, you have to:

Tone/Pulse
You can switch the dial mode. In most situations the TONE option should be selected.

• Press the MENU button. Select BASE using <FLASH - or - CID> and press the MENU button again.

• Using <FLASH - or - CID> select DIAL MODE and press the MENU button.

• Using <FLASH - or - CID> select TONE or PULSE and press the MENU button.

OR

Press and HOLD the "<FLASH" button for approximately 3 seconds. T (Tone) or P (Pulse) appears in the display.
