Thank you for prompt respond and service website. It is very informative. However, I need to contact Cannon directly to order new fuser since their troubleshooting still doesn't solve my problem. But what cause fuser to go bad?

Go to this link: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=SupportDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=239&modelid=10561 In the "please enter your question" (gray bar area) type in E000. It will give you three options for resetting the machine. If these don't solve it, you'll need to replace the fuser (fixing) assembly.

  • Press "Additional Functions", press "#", then press the "Right Arrow" button till it says, "Printer"
  • Then press "Set" then press the "Right Arrow" button again until it says "Printer Reset"
  • Then press "Set" again, and the display will ask you "Yes" or "No"
  • Press the "Left" arrow for "Yes", then press "Set".
  • Now, unplug the power cord and wait 5 seconds and plug back in

That should clear the error. If it doesn't, get a new fuser.

E000 is a high temp. error. My first advice would be to atempt to clear it in service mode:
  1. Press ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS, #
  2. Go to #7 Printer and press OK
  3. Go to #4 Printer Reset and press OK
  4. Yes = ( * )
  5. Power cycle unit.
If this does not help, on most units you have to start looking at your Fixing Assy. or Thermistors. Make sure that you do not have a piece of paper wrapped around Upper Fixing Roller or and other foreign substance in that area. However, on this one, I would recomend replacing Fix Assy. as a whole if you can, FG6-8326-000 (for s/n starting with MQT/MQV/MRV/MRW) or FG6-8325-000 (for all other s/n). Don't see p/n for Thermistors. Also, heard of alot of other board and p/s issues with this model that can cause E001-E004 errors. See if you can clear it first. Good luck. Let me know how you make out.
