Only a suggestion.

Remove power cable from socket. Place machine so switch is facing up.

Very tiny amount of thin oil place sides of switch then push in and out, might do the trick. Most liely awitch has failed requiring replacement.

MY SCREEN IS TO FAR TO THE RIGHT I CAN'T MOVE IT TO THE LEFT

Need the operation manuel for my 22inch Gateway monitor can't change operating language

I have a smaller sized Gateway monitor than yours, but I'm sure the monitor buttons (on the front) perform the same functions on all sizes.

You should have eight control buttons on the front of the bezel (as listed from left to right): source, menu, down arrow, up arrow, left arrow, right arrow, auto/set, and on/off buttons.

Press the menu button, the first dialog screen that appears (at least on mine) is the brightness/contrast function. The screen will show the function to be changed, and a very small picture of what screen you have in view.

Once the first function is listed on the screen, press the down arrow to access the other screens (color, tracking and set-up), each having their own little picture indicating what screen you are looking at.

Brightness/contrast - picture of half light, half dark circle
color - RGB picture
tracking - two squares on top on one another slightly off center
set-up- hand pointing left

You want the set-up screen which shows a picture (I think) of a little hand pointing to the left. Once you are in the set-up screen, press the auto/set button and the first line will be highlighted (usually it is the language choice).

Once highlighted, press the right arrow button until your language name appears (i.e., English, Duetsch, Francais, Espanol Italiano, -there is no choice on mine for Japanese, etc.).

Press the menu button again and that should do it.

How to change orientation of monitor

I'm a little unclear of what you are asking.

1) Screen has turned on monitor?

Press the CTRL key, and ALT key down at the same time.
Now tap on the Left Side Arrow key, until the screen is oriented correctly again.

2) Screen on monitor has shifted left, right, top, or bottom?
Use the controls on the monitor to set it correctly again.

3) Using dual monitors?
Right-click on an empty space on your desktop screen.
Left-click on Properties at the bottom of the list.
Left-click on Settings.

The monitor 1 icon is supposed to be your Primary monitor.
The monitor 2 icon is the Secondary monitor.

Ordinarily the Primary monitor is on the LEFT side, and the Secondary monitor is on the RIGHT side.
Just as shown in the Settings window.

If you wish to move a monitor to the other side, go to the monitor icon you wish to move.

Put your mouse cursor on the monitor icon you wish to move.
Left-click, and hold the left mouse button down.
Now drag the monitor icon you wish to move, to the other side.

Not doing it for you?
Then post in a Comment with more exacting information, as what it is that you wish to do.

Screen cuts off image

To see the button on the right hand side of this monitor you will need to shine a really bright light on it, but the buttons from top to bottom are: 1, up-arrrow, down-arrow, and 2.

  1. On the side of the monitor press the 1 button to activate the menu.
  2. A configuration menu for the monitor will appear; from that menu highlight the "Input Select" menu item using the up and down buttons on the monitor; when you have the item high-lighted, press the 2 key.
  3. A new menu will appear, and then you can select the menu item called HDMI on the left and PC waaay over on the right. Select this menu item with the up and down arrows and when it is selected,
  4. And press 2 like you did in the previous step.
Apparently there's some sort of a strange difference between using this monitor as a "video monitor" and using it with a computer.

Screen Adjustment

On your monitor at the bottom there is 3 buttons. The one all the way to the left is the "menu" button. The next one (going right) is the "NEGATIVE" button. The next one (going right) is the "POSITIVE" button.

You can move your screen around. First, start by pressing the menu button. Then, a menu in blue, with a bunch of little white icons will appear. Next, go over two icons by pressing the positive button twice. Then, proceed to push in the "menu" button again. A bar will appear. By pressing your negative button, your screen will move left. Pressing your positive button will make your screen move right. Adjust your screen until the black on both sides are of even proportion. Then, press the menu button to return to the orginal menu you started at. Proceed to press your positive button two more times. Then, press your menu button. Then, once again, use your positive button, and your negative button to adjust your screen to even out the black on the top and bottom.
