Flashing Lights on Ariston A1636 & Won't progress to rinse either

Hi, I have a couple of problems with my Ariston A1636 washing machine. When I put it on Program 1 (Pre-wash), the machine fills for about 30 seconds, then starts pumping the water out and the door lock light flashes and also the 'Super Wash', 'Easy Iron' and 'Rapid' lights flash. The pump goes on for several minutes. The other problem is that when I put it on Program 4, the cycle begins but never progresses on to rinse. The other day I put it on at 10pm expecting it to be complete by the following morning. When I came down at 7am the program was still running and hadn't moved off of the 'Wash' cycle. Thanks Tom.

I have the same problem superwash and rapid lights start flashing on the last rinse then machine stops ariston A1636 wonder if this is a common fault in them if so i reckon they should recall them hvent had mine 2 years yet but got no extra cover : (

The figures denote time in hours and minutes. so 4h means 4 hours.

Plug off the wall. Open up behind the machine. Check to see if any wires loose. See that the wires from the control panel to the motor are plugged in tight. Vibration from the machine could loosen the wires and give the display wrong readings, or disrupt the run.
