DVDR985 Hi there, On behalf of my church, I'd like to ask you the problem for DVR985. For playing is OK, but for recording the unit just freezes out. Only about 3 sec recording, then stop immediately. please advice, thx & God bless. Regards, Pete

More than likely the transverse motor has a bad gear or is getting stuck somehow.

The tray can be opened by turning the machine over, looking inside the opening near the tray, and finding the small white tab. Use a tool to push the tab across to the other side which opens the tray

Samsung DVD-SH855 DVD Recorder 250GB HDD playback freezes

Samsung dvd sh-855 i have the same problem wiht freezes when recording on timer mode.Recording in timermode with TV on is OK. But only connected whit HDMI cable, Component is OK in all modes!!!
My recorder is a XXE model = scandinavian.
Do anyone have a solution Please

Thanks for the prompt reply. After discussing the problem with a Philips rep., Philips decided to send me an exchange unit for no charge other than my paying for the shipment.

I am using it to record live in church, Do I need anything from menu?

You need to select the source,then just record and play IIRC.The manual is on sony's site.

Picture freeze

have you tried to plat back on another player.?Could be either at fault,seeing as is playing back ok on cam would suspect your player.try playing on another player to see which at fault.
