Place the key into "ACC" position for 60 - 90 minutes and the radio will reset to "Code". If you don't have the correct radio code you can get it for free by calling 1-888-MITSU2008. You'll need the owners information, VIN, radio model# and serial# (found on top of the radio).

I just did this a couple days ago when I replaced the battery. It works and it free! Don't bother with the dealer.

I called around and was told to take it to the dealership so I did. It cost me about $90.00 with the labor. I saw them remove the dash in order to reset the code. It looked complicated. Needless to say I have since replaced the factory radio and haven't had problems since.

That is Correct. After the 3rd Incorrect Entry, It is in Lockout Mode and has to be Reset by a Dealer.

Hi, I have mistaken my radio code and it says Wait 1 H. Yesterday I drive round more than 1 hour, without disturbing the radio, but nothing happened.

if you have to wait at least one hour with ignition on and then put in the correct code and not worked then if you have got that message then you have got the wrong code or it has been put in too many times and is locked out go back to a dealer for help

Hello I have an Hond Accord Tourer, and when the

ask honda dealer.
the operators guide warns of this. did you read it?
the guide warns, many times. page 213 in yours..
do not remove batttery before pulling your radio code.
that be for leaving head lights on and running it flat too.
now you need honda to help you, to unlock it.

you must be second owner, and lost the card that came with car
see page 213 , it says that.
if lost?
the dealer gets the radio serial number and looks up your secret code.
you and now read the lost manual.... again... page 213

Can't see the 1000 sign when im trying to unlock my radio

May be you did it wrong the first two times and it's just locked itself.
To unlock it to a stage when you can put code in , you need to have it on for one hour .No matter how but it should be on for one hour(you can drive with it on , or put the key on and leave it with battery charger for one hour).
After that read manual carefully and follow instruction
step by step on how to put code in.
You have only two tries again. You do it wrong and radio will lock itself up.

2001 mitsubsi eclipse enter car radio wrong code 3 times

call 1888mitsu2001, choose option #4, then hit * (star). give the operator the last 8 numbers in your vin and they will provide the radio code for FREE!

DO NOT PAY FOR THE CODE ONLINE OR GO TO THE DEALER (they will also charge you).

- you will also need to provide the serial and part number of your radio (takes about 5 minutes to take apart an eclipse dash...1 screw in the bottom of the HVAC panel) if you call the 1888mitsu2001 it will provide basic instructions on how to accomplish this.

- if your radio says "off" (meaning you entered the wrong code too many times) you need to put your key in the ignition and turn it to ACC mode for approx. 45min - 1hr and then your radio will say "code" at which point you can enter the code to unlock the radio.

Dead Battery equals Stereo lock

You must get the 4 digit security code and enter it into the radio by pressing the AM and FM2 buttons at the same time. Then enter code via the preset buttons. Press button #1 until you get the first digit of the code then press button #2 until you get the 2nd digit and so on for the 3rd and 4th digits. when code is on the display press the AM and FM2 buttons again and radio should come back on. if it reads safe you have the wrong code #. You can get the code from a dealer for a small fee. They need to remove the radio to get a serial # on the radio chassis.

Replace the battery in 2002 A4.....Now the radio screen is red,and cant get it to read anything ....says it should read SAFE...And then enter the lock out code....But the screen just stays red???

Your car's radio has a security system that requires a password to restore service. Each vehicle/sound system is unique, so you really need to check the vehicle owner's manual or contact your Audi dealer.
