Power button flickers but projector won't power on
The projector won't power on with either the remote or the power button. The button flickers and makes a ticking sound. Tried unplugging it to no avail. Any ideas?
No solution yet. I went to Infocus and they kindly offered to fix it for me for about $600. No thanks...No solution yet. I went to Infocus and they kindly offered to fix it for me for about $600. No thanks...

I had pretty much the exact same problem, I could hear the fans turn barely on when plugging in, but it wouldn't power up. If you look at the power light in dark conditions, the light was doing a rapid flicker. My power supply had failed. I tried to get a replacement board, but the part is no longer available. Projector Doctor would fix it for $395, but there is a person on this board who goes by Neo32 on here and gtitubro on ebay that fixed it for me for $150. I'm a satisfied customer :-)

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble turning on your Epson PowerLite 1770W Multimedia Projector. Here are a few suggestions you can try:
Check the power source: Ensure that the power cord is securely connected to both the projector and the power outlet. Try plugging the projector into a different outlet to see if that makes a difference. You can also try using a different power cord if available.
Reset the projector: To perform a complete reset, unplug the projector from the power source and disconnect any other cables connected to it. Leave it unplugged for at least 10-15 minutes to allow any residual power to dissipate. Then, plug the projector back in and try turning it on again.
Try a different power button: If the power button on the projector itself is not functioning, try using the power button on the remote control if you have one. Alternatively, check if there are any other buttons or switches on the projector that may serve as a power button.
Contact Epson support: If none of the above steps work, it's recommended to contact Epson customer support or a qualified projector technician for further assistance. They will have more specific knowledge about your projector model and can provide further guidance or arrange for a repair if needed.
Regarding the full lock issue and the remote controller, it's possible that the full lock setting may have affected the remote control functionality as well. If you can get the projector powered on, you can navigate through the menu settings to check and adjust the lock settings accordingly. If you don't have a remote controller, investing in one may be a good option as it can provide additional control options and potentially help with unlocking the projector.
Remember to prioritize your safety while troubleshooting. If you're unsure or uncomfortable performing any of these steps, it's best to seek professional help to avoid any further damage or injury.
1. To turn on your NEC P350x projector, press the power button on the top of the projector.
2. To reset the timer on your NEC P350x projector, press the Menu button on the remote control. Then navigate to the "Timer Settings" menu and select the "Reset" option.
There are a few possible causes for a projector like the Infocus IN2124/IN2126 turning itself on and not being able to be turned off with the remote:
1. Remote control issues: Firstly, it's worth checking the remote control itself. Ensure that the batteries are fresh and properly inserted. Try replacing the batteries or using a different remote control to see if the issue persists.
2. Signal interference: Sometimes, external factors can interfere with the projector's remote control signal. Check if there are any sources of interference nearby, such as other electronic devices or strong light sources. Move these items away from the projector to see if it resolves the problem.
3. Faulty power button or control board: It's possible that the power button on the projector or the control board itself is malfunctioning. If the power button is not responding when pressed, it could indicate a hardware issue. In such cases, contacting Infocus customer support or a professional technician for further assistance or repairs may be necessary.
4. Firmware or software issue: Occasionally, a software or firmware glitch can cause unexpected behavior in electronic devices. Check if there are any firmware updates available for your projector model on the Infocus website. Updating the firmware can potentially resolve any known issues and improve overall performance.
5. Power supply issues: In some cases, fluctuations or problems with the power supply can cause erratic behavior in electronic devices. Ensure that the projector is connected to a stable and properly grounded power source. Consider trying a different power outlet or using a voltage stabilizer to rule out any power-related issues.
If the issue persists after trying these steps, it is recommended to reach out to Infocus customer support or consult a professional technician with expertise in projector repairs. They will be able to provide more specific guidance and troubleshooting steps based on your particular projector model.
Hello If the power light is ON and status light is OFF; check if any objects are blocking the air inlet or outlet grill, and remove them if any, and carry out the following. [1] Unplug the power cord from wall outlet. [2] Make sure that the projector has cooled off. [3] Plug the power cord into the wall socket. [4] Press the power button. Check whether the cooling fan has stopped. The problem is with overheating itself. If these does not help you, your projector need service. OK.
Reset the lamp hour meter. Unplug the unit in the main power outlet then turn on the main power switch on. Press and hold the ON, stand by, menu and Input buttons at the same time the buttons are on the projector. Though the same buttons are found on the remote control, the reset only works with the projectors buttons.Plug the power cord back in to the outlet while holding the buttons ON, STANDBY, MENU, INPUTS buttons at the same time, the lamp timer will reset when the projector receive power. Good day and best regards.
l6. After you install a new lamp, select the lamp Usage icon and press and hold
the "Power On" button on the remote control for ten seconds to reset the
lamp time clock to zero.
NOTE: If resetting the lamp clock back to zero after 2100 hours of service,
press the "Power Off" (not "Power On") button on the remote control for ten
seconds
This works on a couple different Toshiba models -- might work on yours...
Make sure the main power switch is OFF. Hold the "ON", "MENU", and "INPUT" buttons at the same time and turn the main power switch on. Keep them held until the yellow power standby light comes on, then let go. It is done.
