Screen Lights Up, but cannot see pictures and functions
Sony Cybershot DSC-W50
I was using the camera just fine today and then all of a sudden, the screen appears to be bright with a partial image and gray box. It turns on and off. Camera seems to zoom in and out and connected to computer and it is taking pictures, but cannot view from the back.
Anyway to reset the screen (reboot the camera through my computer?

This a possibly a connector problem to the screen
If it is still taking pictures OK then you have to decide whether to live with it or get the next camera. I suspect a repair will not be very economic.

I have a Sony DSC-W50 Cybershot camera that won\'t take pictures or videos anymore. It powers up fine and the screen works, but when I hold down the shutter button all the way, it focuses and nothing displayed
Hi, Near LCD screen you will see control Knobs as shown in below picture, find Timer switch on control knobs and press it once, then press shutter button, camera will start beep and take photo after 5 seconds.
thats normal. it just doesn't have enough power to bring the lense back in. once you charge your battery and turn it on the lense will automatically come back in and then out for you to take a picture.
