You might have changed the batteries, but have you fully charged them? That's the recommended resolution from Sony

My friend accidentally dropped my Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-HX5 on the hard ground. My camera still works and I do not have any error messages or physical damage on the outside. However, now my photos almost...

Apparently no physical damage but camera result shows internal damage of lens mechanism and lens assembly need to be replaced by local camera repair shop because camera will take apart for that and lens assembly can not be repaired, replacement is only option.
Let me know if there is additional question.
Thanks.

Cant take pictures and the lens wont come out

Well dont use force like pulling lens out. Take memry card out make sure it is in correctly and contact clean and the compartment door is shut. Then try If to no avail Get onto Sony Technical Support via the web. I guess this is a a circuit board fault and need replacing.

Camera turns on but will not take picture

If the lens comes out without showing an error code, and you have a live picture on the LCD, the problem is probably with the 2nd switch under the release button. It'll have to go to a repair shop.
