Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-P7 Digital Camera

I dropped my camera & the lens wont shut & now I cant see any pictures

This is the DSC P71...... but after I accidentally dropped it the lens wont go in ...the power button goes on & off but I cant see any images either...what can I do? I even tried changing the batteries....did'nt help

You might have changed the batteries, but have you fully charged them? That's the recommended resolution from Sony

I cant see any thing accept black image when my lens is open


This is problem of CCD Imager in Sony DSC-T1 camera and CCD Imager will be replaced.
Sony will repair this camera free of cost for CCD Imager problem. You will pay only shipping charges.

Eror e6100 flashing


error is generic hardware error. normally some part of the infrared or display has malfunctioned.

Deleting photos


  • Set Mode Dial to Play and power up the camera.
  • Press < / > on control button to select desired picture to delete.
  • Press Menu button and press < / > to select Delete option and press Center of control button.
  • Confirm OK by pressing ^ button and picture will be deleted.
You can download user manual of DSC-P71 from Sony Support. It has better details on how to delete file.

Cant take a picture


Your DSC-P71 has defective CCD Imager and this part will be replaced to show you live view to take picture.
Sony will repair this problem Free of Cost. Please click on Sony CCD Support to get details.

My sony dsc-71 cybershot just developed what appears to be a hazy image or an image with a halo effect. The camera is spproximately 4 years old and worked great until just a few days ago.


Do you mean DSC-P71? This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Sony should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following link for more info:

Camera turns on but will not take picture


If the lens comes out without showing an error code, and you have a live picture on the LCD, the problem is probably with the 2nd switch under the release button. It'll have to go to a repair shop.

First make sure your lens is clean. If clean, then this sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Sony should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways.
