Not recording I'm having exactly the same problem that jhector reported in February 2007: I put in a disc, and it says "blank disc", then I press record as the manual says to do, but instead of "standing ready" as the manual predicts, the word "data" flashes briefly and it does not stand ready to do anything,

Have you formatted the disc? It will be under the disc menu screen the format a disc option. Does it also play a DVD disc? If it doesn't it might need a clean of the lens.
Put in a blank or unfinalized disc, press Record until Record Manual shows. This is similar to an old-school cassette deck being in Pause/Record mode. That should do it. The input signal will be present on the audio outputs (both digital and analog).
The manual isn't specific about how long you can remain in Record Manual mode without starting to record on the CD. My Pioneer has a Monitor function so I don't need to place a blank disc for this.
have you purchased the correct blank discs? sounds like you've inserted discs that can only be used on a PC. these players can only record onto blanks bearing the "compact disc digital audio" mark. these are for use on home audio recorders. hope this helps?
Almost at the same time the Xbox 360 was released in late 2005,
consumers began reporting rounded scratches found on discs used in
their Xbox 360 consoles. Almost two years later, in February 2007, the
website "The Llamma's Adventures" investigated the matter and concluded
that some Xbox 360 drives lack a mechanism to secure the disc solidly
in place.
i would say for some reason your dvd player is not compatible from now on with that brand of blank dvd!
get the firmware update from the brand website all you do is download the file burnit on a cd and put it in the dvd player should fix most and eventual problems
put the CD back in the casmcorder, and hook up the camcorder to your tv. put a blank disc in your dvd player and play the small disc through the camcorder on the tv. while the camcorder is playing the recorded stuff, press record on the dvd player and it should burn the stuff onto the blank cd.
You should use consumer cd's that are rather expensive. You probably tried to record a recordable cd-rom (a cheap computer disc). It's not possible to burn a pro-disc (computer disc) by using your Pioneer, and that's why you got that message on the screen. Refer to the user manual of your cd recorder and learn what sort of blank cd you should use.
