    Try taking the battery out, then turn it back on with only the power cord plugged in (Keep the battery out)

    There is a huge recall on a lot of their batteries & yours could be one of them. If that worked then it's your battery & you'll want to check out their web page, fill out a short form & they will send you a free replacement battery. Web link is:

Remove the battery and any type of power from the labtop for a few minutes

key in ctrl-alt-esc alll to geather

bootable dvd cd rom or bootable cdrom. unless you that fitcher turn off on you startup sequence setings. than none of it will work

try f10 - f12 as you turn on the labtop ech time.

bluescreen? try this one turn off your laptop for sometime, and open it and remove the new applications you install. you can repair the problem by repairing you o.s. but it will not take long the Bluescreen will return soon.

solution: back up your data make a clean format. but right after installing o.s. immediately install anti virus.

Laptop crash after inserting blank disk
do not worry at all. take out the cd and reboot in safe mode by pressing F8 at bootup. Then you can restore your laptop to an earlier date from Start->All progs->Accessories->System->restore. reboot normal this time.

Your operating system got crash. Use backup CD.
Turn on yr lappy. manually open the cd rom from right side of leptop. Put CD in. then wait for few seconds. u will see the screen then follow the instruction and re install the entire windows.

CD rom drive not showing up in
Common problem. CD driver did not install correctly.

Go to Device Manager. Unistall the CD drive. Reboot.

The Operating System will then rescan, locate the drive, and reinstall the driver.

Trying to do a complete system recovery of the computer
I am pretty sure in order to do the System Restore on the HP, you need to boot the Computer with the Restore CD in. It should boot from the CD and start the recovery process.
