Question about Panasonic PT-47WX42 47" Rear Projection Television
I know what is wrong with my tv and I see someone just had the same problem yesterday with theirs. I do beleive the expert was texmen or something like that. Quite odd my tv is having the same problem as their on the same day, the converge chip needs to be replaced. I have contacted panasonic on this for my tv was made in august 2001 and I just talked to a tech today in which he was the one he gave me and he stated that the orginail chip in these only last 6 years. well my tv isn't even 6 years old yet. He also told me he has a life time chip! Why isn't Panasonic putting life time chips in these tv's to start with. The manager had nothing to say then. My tv isn't under warrantly being it is over a year old, but panasonic refuses to tell me the product name or number of how to get the chip to have it replaced myself. How do I find out the product name for the chip and the number of it so I can order it. It is the converge chip to make the colors line up.

This is very strange coincedence it seems the more I search this problem the more people I am finding with the same issue. This morning Aug 3 2007 I turned on our Panasonic PT-47WX42C to find this convergence problem! (distorted colours-off alignments) I, like yourself Hultsie would love to get the schematic diagram for our unit and change out the IC(s) myself. If we work together I believe we can accomplish this task! Please contact me at [email protected] if you would like to give this a go! I certainly will try to exhaust all avenues before I part with hundreds of dollars for something I know I can service myself. Oh, the defective IC(s) will more than likely have the values you need written on top of the chip...once you know the ones that need changing your local tv repair or even panasonic (if there close by) will sell them to you.

They should find out you gave them a wrong CC number and reject the order. You could place the order again with the correct information. As for delivery by X-mas you could call them, get their options and if they commit to them.
