I have a Sony KP-51HW40 TV that is about 5 years old. Couple weeks ago, the image shown on the screen suddenly becomes out of shape. All three colors are out of alignment and the image is bended at the center - almost like a picture squeezed from top to bottom in the middle so that the top edge of the picture is bended down and the bottom edge of the picture is bended up. I read some articles on the net and thought it might be due to the convergence IC (STK392-560) got broken. I replaced the ICs (two of them), but the problem is still there. It would be greatly appreciated if you could provide some help.
Did you also replace the bias resistors required when you converted from STK392-110 to the higher STK392-xxx modules? If I wer you I would go back to the orginal modules only new ones. Then I would also get a schematic to test the voltage levels on the chips to make sure they are the same as on the schematic.
