Electric Range Door Locked after cleaning

I was cleaning my Jenn-Air JER8850 when at the end of the cycle the display flashed F1 and began to beep. Now the door is locked and will not release. Does anyone know how to get the door to release???

"F1" is an error code for any of the following possible problems: Electronic Oven Control (EOC) board. Wiring harness shorted. Defective touchpad on the control board. I speculate that the control board may have failed during the cleaning cycle, causing your problem. Unfortunately, this may be an expensive repair if it is a control board, and it could be maintenance intensive to get to the door latch to release it. You will need to lift the stove top to gain access to the linkage for the oven door relay. There should be a few screws under the top front to remove. Make sure you unplug the unit or turn off the circuit breaker before servicing. I hope this helps you.

Did not find an error code "F1-8"
I did find these. Seems that about everything that can go wrong with a Jenn Air is related to the clock.

I have a double oven electric whirlpool oven and turned self cleaning on and by mistake as it was loking i opened the door and cannot turn on its showing locked the opens and i can not turn on oven

Hi, Door locked flashing after the attempt of the cleaning cycle. After taking the oven appart to get the door open, I began troubleshooting. I discovered that the door lock motor failed in the locked position. I opened up the motor and found the magnet inside was cracked! The coil winding for the motor was also open. Hope that helps! While your waiting on the new part you can trick the oven by using a zip tie on each of the two lock motor micro switches to hold them closed and remove the lock lever. The oven will work just fine.

My stove did the same thing after I cleaned it. I had to have the sensor replaced. That is what the F1 code is.

Jenn-Air stove locked

After the lock indicator light goes out, move the door lock lever to the left. The oven door can now be opened. Turn the selector and temperature knobs from clean to off AFTER THE DOOR IS UNLOCKED. If the temperature knob is turned to off BEFORE the door is unlocked, the door will not open. Forcing the lock will damage the lock mechanism. If this should happen, return the temperature knob back to CLEAN, unlock the door, THEN turn the temperature knob off. This is not a problem. The cleaning cycle goes on for approximately 4 hours as I recall. it will unlock by itself when done. Read your user guide for troubleshooting tips. if you can't locate your copy, one is available on line at the Jenn-Air site
