SOURCE: CMOS replacement for ASUS d1

It's difficult to say but you will need to remove the underside screws and also maybe even the keyboard as it's often attached to the base. The cmos battery could also be behind the screen. Comment by sandrew, posted on Nov 12, 2006 I'm sorry but I dont have any personal experiences with your particular laptop, but the lcd's are generally held in with 1 screw in each corner normally covered by a rubber bung hiding the screws, I would be very carefull not to disconnect any wires behind the screen, if yor not sure take it to a qualified repairer. You will probably have to remove the top panel just below the hinges as they may be held in underneath

How can I replace the CMOS battery an ASUS laptop?

There is no replaceable CMOS battery on this model.
It is probably a rechargeable battery on the motherboard.
See Manual which only mentions the main battery pack.

Replace cmos battery and case openning

Asus motherboards usually use a lithium CR2032 battery for CMOS. Also, on the top of the old CMOS battery you took out there should be the exact battery type engraved on the surface.

Batteries Plus in Wichita, KS has a good online store for purchasing your replacement battery.

ASUS P5GZ-MX: Cmos Settings Wrong - Tryed New Cmos battery and setting time a date howto fix ?

It may just be that the new battery needs to be charged. I would leave it switched on for 24 hours to check. If this doesn't fix the problem, it could also be a failing BIOS chip or the charging circuit for the CMOS battery has failed. If the BIOS chip is not socketed or the cmos charging circuit has failed, you will need to replace the motherboard or find an electronics engineer to replace the failed components, this will probably be more expensive that a new board.

Need to reset Asus k7v bios

Yes, if you consult your motherboard manual this will show you the location of the cmos battery and reset jumpers. You can either move the jumpers from pins 1+2 to 2+3 and then back again after a few seconds or remove the cmos battery for a few seconds. Make sure your pc is off!
