I bought an ilo 2gb mp3 player last night from Wal-Mart. I have read the intructions that came with it but they are not very helpful. I cannot get the thing to turn on. I have replaced the battery and that didn't work. I know that some MP3's charge by leaving them plugged in to the computer but that didn't work either. I cannot get it to turn on. HELP PLEASE :o) Thanks!!
If you just bought it and it wont turn on try and check and see if the key lock is still in the on position. It was locked when i got mine. it turned on afterward. and you have to hold the power button down for a few seconds. hope this helps.
I know this isn't a very technical solution, but since you just bought it last night, I would take it back to Wal-Mart and exchange it for another one and see if you have any more luck with the new one.

Make sure that the hold/lock switch isn't engaged, and make sure it has been plugged into the computer for 3-4 hours to fully charge.
If it still won't work, run a Repair in the Philips Device Manager.
Are you running Windows Vista? if so, you are out of luck - not compatible. This company is out of business - if it doesn't work just by plugging it into computer, then take it back to Wal-Mart immediately
1) Disconnect from computer, turn it off, hold in volume + button and reconnect it to your computer - continue holding volume + until the Found Hardware Wizard comes up. 2)
REFORMAT FOR WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER - Erases Everything: Connect your iLo player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "ILO 2GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything, and give you a fresh start.
