Hello, I have an acer laptop and it has the crystal eye webcam on it. Well it works and everything but when I pull up my MSN messenger it wont let my friends see my webcam. So basically it wont let me use the webcam on MSN. What am I supposed to do to fix this???

The first thing to check is if your webcam is working correctly. If you're running Windows XP, click on the "start" button, then click on "My Computer". Now double click on "Acer Crystal Eye Webcam". It should now show a screen with video from the webcam (probably of your face in front of the computer).
I know a lot of people are having problems with the acer cam
if you updated msn try going back to your old version
or if you have'nt updated it you can try that.
The only other thing is to uninstall cam and reinstall
I've had to that so many times on my acer crystal eye cam
1. Click Start, click Run,
copy and paste the following text: %SystemDrive%\Program
Files\McAfee\SiteAdvisor in the Run box and click OK. 2. Right-click the file
sasets.ini or sasets.dll and select Open With, then select Notepad. 3. Locate
the section titled [msnmsgr.exe]. 4. Change Enabled=1 to Enabled=0. 5. Click
File and select Save. 6. Close sasets.ini or sasets.dll and restart your
computer
I'm not sure if your problem is fixed yet or not, but I had this same problem when I updated to windows live 2009. But whenever I deleted it and got an older version of live it works just fine. So, I think it's msn and not the webcam..but i'm not positive about that. Mine just seemed to work after I got an older version.
hi,the acer crystal eye has issues with mcafee site adviser either delete it as i did or configure it.search mcafeemessenger click on microsoft live messenger 2009 (v140) conference link to the appr opiate page hope this is helpful.
