Every time I use my camera after leaving it for 24hours I need to reset time date. Camera will not start until updated. I have a similar but intermittent problem - sometimes when restarting the camera it starts up but with all the default settings - I have to reset the time and the user 1 and 2 settings etc. I suspect that like many other cameras there is an internal battery that needs to be replaced after a couple of years - I'm going to bring it to a local repair place and have them run a diagnostic. If I get and answer I'll let you know. If anyone else has a possible solution let us know . Thanx

in most of digital cameras there is a small rechargable battery or a capacitor bank used to store settings in memory for few minutes. if that battery is dead it cant hold settigns at memory.

Camera keeps loosing the time and date settings. When turning the camera on the lens does not open, then a screen asking to set the date and time settings appears - once date reset the camera works...

have you check the settings for time and date have you saved it? You can also try to remove the cam battry for 2 mins. then put it back in then turn on the camera and then after few secs. turn it off, then see if the issue persist.

Everytime you removed the battery of your camera, date and time will be reset. You have to set the date and time correctly.

Follow the steps below.

1.Press the Menu button.
2.select the Setup Tab, it has camera w/ tool icon
3.Scroll down until you select Date and Time
4.Press Ok then set the date and time.

Thanks.

Clock always reset to default upon power up

Either the replacement battery was dead or the camera needs to be serviced. If the date/time needs to be reset every time the camera powers up, the camera is not receiving the power it needs from the date battery.

Default settings on startup

The Clock Battery When the main battery is installed or an AC adapter is connected, the clock battery will charge in about 10 hours. When fully charged, the clock battery can provide several days of backup power. The language-selection dialog will automatically be displayed when the clock battery is exhausted. This is from the manual- but they do not say it is replaceable.

I Have to Reset The Date an Time Everytime I turn the camera on

The following is from the manual which you can download on the link below: http://world.casio.com/qv/download/en/manual/ So it seems that you must either keep the battery charged or leave the camera connected to the USB dock (with PC on)! If your camera is not keeping the time for the 30 hours stated then it's probably time for a new battery.
