Printer just stopped printing

Hp 5510 4 in 1 combo. worked great for a couple years then suddenly stopped receiving info from computer. All functions work except for it's just not commucating with the computer. I love this printer plus and don't want to scrap it as my husband suggests. Please tell me there is a simple solution!!

We tried that. I think there has to be something to do with the wiring that receives the info from the computer. Maybe it can be replaced or something. I'm in a battle against my husband to save this printer. He's replaced it with a plain printer without a scanner or fax, and I love this printer.

Try reloading the software for starters. Unplug the USB cord from the printer and plug ut in again- this should cause the printer to look for the printer again

Printers don't get mended OK
Try www.fixyourownprinter.com
Of course if it is just the print side not doing it but scanning and plain off computer copying works OK
then keep it for that

first you confirm scanning is working or not if it is working fine there is no issue with printer, if it is not working problem found with scanner assay you need to contact hp service center....

My printer does print. it prints only the 1st

I have the same problem with my HP 5610v all in one. I've had it for a couple years and it's worked great until a few weeks ago. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it using my original software. Then tried to update the driver, but HP update tells me I have the best driver already. Hope someone can help us both! Could there be a virus or a glitch in the HP updates?

HP 5510 Just stopped working properly in the middle of a doc.

Well, thet just proves that the problem is with the printer itself. I would guess that it is an issue with either the memory or the print engine itself in which case it would most likely require a trip in to a qualified HP service center to resolve the issue.

HP 5510 Scanner/Copier/Fax Stuck

I had the same problems some months ago. I only solved it when I deleted the printer settings from my computer and reinstalled the software, making sure that I installed all the components from the CD. Also make sure that the printer is on fax default setting when you are using it as fax. You can check this by going to My Computer then Control Panel, then choose Printers and Other Hardware then choose Printers and Faxes. You can then set as default hp Officejet 5500 series fax. Hope these suggestions help.
