Question about NetGear R6200 WiFi Router

Iphone won't connect to Netgear R6200

The router kinda has two connections: *******, and *******-5G. ******* stopped working and *******-5G is still working. The problem is that *******-5G won't appear on my IPod Touch 4G, my brothers IPhone 3G and my mom's IPhone 4 but will appear on my dad's Macbook and IPhone 5 and my parents' two IPad 3. It's been a week and the connection still doesn't work and my dad doesn't even try to repair the connection so I want to do it myself :) Can you please help me? Thank you!

Yeah that's a dual band router. Which means it operates on 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. Sounds like some of your devices only work on the 2.4Ghz. So make sure it is enabled in the configuration.

This video will show you how to get to the config screen on your router.

SOURCE: Netgear 108 Mbps Router WGT624 v3

As you say that, you are able to go online with the modem, connect your modem- router and laptop witha cable and check if you are able to go online with the router wired first, if yes, then the w/ls settings has to be checked..open your w/ls network connection, remove your preferred wireless network and then try to reconnect again and check.. if you are not able to gon online wired with the router, disconnect power cables from modem- router , wait for 10 sec, and reconnect it , wait till all the lights come up and then reconnect, check if you are able to go online if not your router has to be reconfigured,,

plz check and revert back in case of any issues

5. Connect to the router by typing http://192.168.0.1 in the address field and click Enter or Return key.
6. A window will prompt for a user name and password. The default username is "admin" and the default password is "password".

Setting the router:

1. Check physical connections.

a. Connect the modem to the Internet port of the router. The Internet “i” LED on the front of the router should light up.

My range has been significantly reduced after installing the recent new firmware. I used to connect to Netgear 88 but now I have to use Netgear 88 5G. Is it the 5G or the new firmware?

Go back and reload the firmware if that solves it you are good to go if not revert back to factory firmware and then post a note on Netgears site, could be a bug in their firmware.

Netgear n600

Does your IPAD or your computer show the Netgear88 as an available connection. If you are using windows 7 you should be able to look at your "network and sharing" page. Then click on "connect to a network" (2nd one down). When click on that another screen should open up showing which band your computer is connected to. It should also show the OTHER band as well. It will also show the signal strength for both the Netgear88 channel and the Netgear88 G channel. If that information is there and the signals are good then the problem is in your IPAD. You may need to check to see if it needs to be updated as well.

My HP G60 laptop with Vista won't connect to Netgear router

Usually there are 2 types of wireless connections, 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. Your laptop may not be able to connect to one of these connections, so it may be incompatible with your router. You can try buying a USB networking card (no more than $20). It will plug into one of your USB ports and should allow you to connect to your router. Hope this helps!

Can't connect i phone 4 to the router

1. In your iPhone, go to Settings>General>About. Then, scroll down to "Wi-Fi Address". This is your MAC address. This you will need in order to authorize your phone in your Netgear page (which usually looks something like ***.***.X.X (where "X" are numbers)).
2. Log in to you Netgear page.
3. On the blue left panel of the screen, click on "Wireless Settings". A new page comes up.
4. Click on "Setup Access List".
5. Click on "Add" to enter the require info needed for your phone to gain access to your network.
6. On "Device Name" I entered "iPhone". This name is irrelevant for i named my iPhone differently and using just "iPhone" worked. So enter whatever name you wish, but keep it simple.
7. Now, on "Mac Address" (the single most important info here) enter the number you obtained in Step 1. Make sure you enter it with the colons (:).
8. Add and apply, and wait for the blue bar at the top of the screen to do its thing. It will take only a few seconds to update the network.
That's all! Connect and enjoy!
