If you're not getting any water (hot or cold), you'll need to check voltage coming to the solenoid valve. This is the valve the hoses connect to on the back of the washer. If you're not getting voltage during the fill cycle, your timer is the most likely culprit.

SOURCE: New LHW0050PQ--Worked first 5 cycles, now won't start..Help

I took mine apart this night. The top comes off by removing two torx screws from the top-rear and lifting at the rear and lifting in the rear until the front edge slides out of the sheet metal. Regarding the door switch. It appears to cut the power to to the control PCB so if you can turn on the power and press the plunger on the door switch (located on the right side above where the door latch catchs) and the control panel lights up - it isn't the door switch. My local "service tech" has been waiting for a replacement door assy for (4) weeks. I finally got frustrated and took the unit appart myself. Mine will not spin or move the drum in any way but does run the pump. I will try setting at different locations in the cycle and turning the power on and starting it. It definately is not the door switch - what a waste of time.

SOURCE: amana washer only works on delicate cycle

Open the control panel. Unplug the timer and then plug it back in good and firm.
If it does not work correctly after that,
Replace your timer.

SOURCE: Agitator Not Working

My Hotpoint VBXR1090B top loading washing machine quit spinning during the rinse cycle and also quit agitating. The water filled up and drained just fine --no leaks.
Here's how I fixed it in 5-minutes.
Tools:

  1. Putty knife
  2. Nut driver - I used a multi-purpose screwdriver without any heads attached.
Procedure:
  1. Unplug washer from the electrical outlet for safety
  2. Release two spring clips holding the front panel on: Insert a putty knife 5" in from the side between the top and the front panel. Pull the front panel forwards.
  3. Unscrew 2 screws holding the top down.
  4. Lift top - it's somewhat hinged in the rear with three tabs inserted in control panel.
  5. The little red tab at the end of the lid switch should be between the lip of the opening and the top; not sitting on top of the lip as mine was.  It's thin enough steel to push it with your bare hands.
  6. Make sure when the lid closes it actually causes the switch to turn on. You should hear a click.
  7. Put everthing back together. Plug washer back in. Put your tools away.
  8. Voilà. Done. Easy.  Even a woman or a ****** could do it.

SOURCE: My Whirlpool washer won't agitate or spin . But it does drain the water.

i also had the same problem, and it ended up being the coupler. It was not hard to replace, it cost me about 19.00. I didn't follow full recomende instructions. I tipped the washer backwards. Removed the drain pump and the motor itself. Then I removed the old coupling and placed the new one. The washer is working like new...

Hi

for the question of water comming in the spin cycle, yes its normal we call it a spray rinse. For the shaking check your leveling and also make sure that the back leveling feet when lifting back of washer up and down that the foot mechanism is functining.

Hope this helps

I have an Amama NAV5800AW washer machine and about a month ago every time the washer is on spin cycle it makes a VERY loud sound, and lately has been leaking water during the spin. Any thoughts.

Hello,

The noise you are hearing is the main tub bearing. Water has been leaking past the seal and into the bearing causing it to rust. There is no lubrication on the bearing anymore and you are hearing the metal on metal grinding. You are looking at a costly repair of about $350. I hope this helps you out.

Loud whirring sound

no problem withthe water they sometimes use a water ring for balance, or you may be hearing water reaming in the pump and hose areaa, its always there. as far as not spinning completly you may need to replace the belt or the idler(tension pulley), two 5/16 screw along the very bottom of unit will gai you access to see inside the machine

Washing Machine trouble

The easiest way to solve this without taking the machine apart is to tilt the machine back and look under it.
Above the transmission and clutch you will see the brake assembly. It is a little aggrevating to get to with the cabinet on, but you can spray it with some silicone lube and it will help this problem. You may have to spray it then put into spin, stop it and spray again. After it spins and stops a few times it will usually smooth out.
