Question about Sony Handycam DCR-TRV330 Digital Camcorder

Image and sound problems at playback

This camcorder started having major problems. It was refusing to eject tapes, it was getting several error codes. All those problems have been resolved and now that they are fixed, there are problems with the playback. When I put in an old recorded tape or a brand new tape with new recording, during playback I get 5 gray bars on the left side of the screen (or my tv when I hook it up to that) and sound distortion. It's not even distortion but mostly no sound except every second or so there is a tiny bit of sound that comes through.

Your tape guides are out of calibration on all your pre - recorded tapes , or they are out of adjustment ( maybe even loose ) now ; - - put your camcorder close , next to your ear ? and . . . listen ! to a new tape in play mode - if you hear a fluttering sound like a deck of cards being shuffled softly , the camera is damaging all your tapes and needs alignment ;

Tape mechanism problems are quite complicated but they can usually be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be diagnosed by a qualified service technician.

I have a Sony DCR-TRV250 Digital Handycam Camcorder. Currently a tape is stuck in it and the camcorder won't eject it. The tape unit comes out but won't open.

I got the tape to eject by removing the battery from the camcorder, putting it back on so that the tape would go back inside the camera. Then I had the tape eject again. Several times the tape would not be ejected but I repeated my steps until the camera released the tape.

This can occur when the heads do not spin up fast enough or the loading does not complete. Check for slipping of the loading belt. There is more load placed on the loading motor and mechanism in total when the tape is actually there. The flashing Eject indicates that the load did not complete.

Hope this helps a bit.

Eject problem SOny TRV-110E

The vlatch to spring the basket (cassette holder) is easy to access on these. Many times the eject process will take place if the holder is released. After the door is removed the holder can be released by gentley raising the latch on the right side of the holder assembly. After the tape is out further checks can be made for damp drum or tension issues.

Canon Elura 65 Camcorder Refuses to Load Mini DV Tape

Try a different tape in case the take up isn't working in the previous tape.

Clean the tape heads with a tape cleaner in case there is buildup on the pinch rollers causing the tape to jam or slip.

If those solutions don't work, you should take it into a repair shop to have a closeup view as to what the problem is unless you see something obvious like a spring broken or loose or a bent piece or foriegn objects in the deck.

C:32:11 message flashes, cassette eject won't work, camera doesn't work

Just had this problem myself... called Sony. Here is what I did to fix this:

1. Turn off power
2. Open the LCD Display
3. Press "Reset" with paperclip/pen
4. Unplug ANY wires connected to the camcorder
5. Eject battery
6. Plug in DC charger
7. Power on
8. Attempt to eject tape
9. At this point, the metal tape holder comes out but refuses to open... slightly "close" the portion of the camcorder that has the button to eject the tape, and then open it fully again (you'll hear a click, this signals the device that the 'hatch' is open and to eject).
10. The metal door *should* pop out and allow you to withdraw the tape.

I've tried 4 different cassettes and about 2 seconds after hitting play, I get the error every time... my solution: Not going to try to play my tapes on the camcorder anymore... will find another player to play Hi8 MP cassettes. Unknown if able to record to tape as of yet.

Constant Eject Tape iluminated on screen.

Are there any error codes listed? Usually when a camcorder constantly ejects the tape it is because of a fault being present, the most likely one is moisture. Leave unit in a dry environment for a day with the cassette door open then try it. If you are sure the unit does not have moisture in it you probably have a bad moisture sensor. They go bad frequently. It is the small square device usually located on the deck base near the video drum and sometimes on the base of the drum. I do not know if you are capable of replacing this unit. If not you will need to find a reputable repair facility to get an estimate. Keep in mind from the description you gave of the problem it could be about anything. This is just the most common problem for this symptom. Several websites which offer free estimates are: http://www.videotech.com or http://www.camcorderrepair.com or http://www.videoonerepair.com Good luck.
