On my Sony DCS-P41, Cyber shot, it will still take pictures however when the problem first started... the display screen was black and whit static, like when you put the tv on a bad chanel. I changed the batteries, a few times, and now the display screen is white nothing shows up.
Either the LCD or the connector/connections are at fault.Check them physically for a loose connection due to humidity or dust.
Replace LCD and we can help for original LCD and instructions.

The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.
Hi! Does the display itself or just the image blink? Actually, W80, W85 and W90 has a problem with the shutter cable connector - it looses contact from time to time, so the shutter could open or close all the time, changing the amount of light getting through and when shooting doesn't close as the camera is not able to control them normaly as there's a loose connection. If the pictures have horizontal lines (zoom in the picture to check it) then it's 100% this problem. If so, you should contact your local Sony service center and see if they can fix it for free as it's a factory problem. If they don't aggree / ask too much, you can contact me at [email protected] and I can try to help you to fix this problem yourself (if you're ready to open it). I work in a Sony service center.
