RE: I/O Error- now there are more problems

As i was advised, i got new firware for my mp3 player. now, my pc doesnt even detect the device and there is no response when i try to turn it on. help please!

Sorry for a very late response. Nonetheless here is download link for the firmware that worked for me. I have Creative NOMAD MuVo Tx MP3 Player 512MB.

Download File size: 1.63 MB

Downlaod, unrar and run the application. It automatically detect your MP3 player and show it in the pane. Upgrade 'firmware' and you are done.

Hi there!

I can understand your issue. When you say having difficulty in adding the music in your player and the device is hooked up. Did you check whether the device is detected in the computer or not.

If the device is detected then go ahead and open the windows media player and add the music into it.

NOTE : Make sure the device should be in MTP mode, inorder to get the device detected in computer..
Please revert for further clarification..

Coby mp305 usb stick w/ fm radio display says file system error & wont allow me to access menu to use fm radio or anything. cobys website has proven to be worthless. any suggestions would be appreciated....

I just fixed my co workers device. Plug in the device into the PC after it plugged into the pc, the pc will detect the device after the device is detected. In My Computer, double click on the coby device, it will bring you to the the storage device, its also named coby something. right click on it and format. You'll lose all your data but the file system error message will be fixed. Reload music and you're back and running.

Computer doesn't recognize MP3 player -

I had the same problem, all you have to do is first turn on the Mp3.Then go to settings. Then go down to USB mode. It will probably say, auto detect.But instead scroll down to MSC. If that doesn't work try MTP.

I just bought the Curtis MPS515

The Curtis site says that a Firmware update is required for this product. The firware update fixes a welcome screen as well as the computer not seeing the device issue - see download site in reply pasted below...

Q: When turned on, The WELCOME screen goes on but the unit shuts down after that even with new battery.
This may be caused due to damaged firmware but can be recovered by firmware upgrade. Click on the link given below to download the Firmware folder on your computer. When done, refer to file "procedure.doc", a Word file included in the Firmware folder, and follow the procedure to upgrade the Firmware of MP3 player. Download the Firmware folder at http://www.curtisint.com/html/custservice/manuals/CUR_MPS515_FW-UPGRADE.ZIP
Q: The computer does not recognize the MP3 player.
Upgrade the Firmware of the MP3 player, as procedure explained above.

Not detected by computer - cannot recharge battery

yay I found a solution! so I kept getting the error about an MTP device, so I did a big search. I am running vista on a 32 bit processor. what you need to download is the MTP installation programme from windows. so click on http://support.microsoft.com/kb/939211
and then just select what processor speed you need. should do the trick! I also downloaded http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=A2E73160-E862-4F19-BB26-C0CAFE798955&displaylang=en initially, but it didn't appear to work. hope that you all get to the bottom of this frustrating problem :)

Gigabeat System Error Problem

Error message 0000020 - System Error displayed whenevr devide powered up. Only way to shut down is by turning battery off. Gigabeat Software on PC not able to detect device, not listed in Device Manager or as an external drive in My Computer. (As it normally is) Is there a way to reinstall firmware from PC when device not detected?
