After using for sometime, scroll pad not working well. Cursor stops at any place, vibrating without touching the pad and become impossible to move the cursor in all directions. Then PC has to be shut down...

First Try doing the same in the safemode

Start the Computer with Press F8 key (keep on hitting it before window screen appear)

It will show you the windows advance option

Select the safemode with networking and enter

Login to the user account

Check the Scroll pad if its working fine then there is some problems with software - need update

My HP Pavilion Dv6 1030us the touchpad won't work.. It moves okay but It doesn't click! The buttons work fine, the only problem is with the touchpad and is driving me crazy! =/

Try going to the control panel > mouse settings, Open the mouse settings and at the top of the page, there should be a tab for device settings. Click on this tab, It should bring up the touchpad device, highlight it and click on the settings button. When the settings window shows, scroll down to tapping, highlight tapping and make sure that the box is checked for tapping enabled. While you are in there go through all the other settings.

Cursor Will Not Stay Put

Try uninstalling the drivers from the device manager, then do a hardware search. It will automatically find the touch pad and reinstall the drivers. If this doesn't work, then check the connector under the keyboard. Disconnect it and reconnect it, they sometimes work loose. If these don't correct the problem, then you have a faulty touch pad and you'll have to replace it.
