Question about Hitachi 60V500 60" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
Was watching it, it shut down .. when I tried to turn it on, the leds bl/rd/rd came on for a couple seconds then the leds started doing a marque type scan bl-red-red like one of those road contruction arrow sign to move to different lane, then after about 3 mins, it totally shuts off (with just the red led on) no screen ever came on. can't say anything about the sound, cause at the time I had the sound turned down, and haven't be able to turn it up (no screen to see if it even sees it) to check that. Thanks.
Intermittent won't start, power supply LED's may be intermittent Cause: Power supply regulator I901 P/N CZ00868 is leaky, may verify the problem by freezing I901.

If the power light blinks slowly,
you've tried to turn on the TV during
the lamp cooldown cycle. Wait
approximately 30 seconds, and the TV
will turn on automatically.
If light blinks, pauses for about a
minute, and blinks again: the lamp is
trying to turn on (TV will turn on
when successful). If TV doesn't turn
on and sequence continues, the lamp also
needs to be replaced.
To order lamp call 1-800-338-0376.
Have your TV serial number
and lamp type available (you'll
find this information on the
sticker that's on the right side of
the TV).
OK.

I've tried to turn our tv on several times. The leds will flash bl,rd,rd and keep on for about 3 minutes and then totally shut off. There is no picture or sound and when we turned it off there was sound... When the tv finally shuts off after the 3 minutes, the 'lamp' light remains on and solid...What's the problem and how can I fix it?
try to power on 3 lights on for 2 min then they blinc 3 min then tv shuts off no pic no sound 3rd led stays lit red
I had the exact same situation. After I watch it cycle through the blinking lights the red "lamp' led stays on for a few minutes before shutting down.
My TV is 5 exactly years old today. I bought it from Circuit City with an extended warranty. Approximately 1 year ago the main component (I was told that it was the most expensive part on the TV) was replaced. What is my solution and I want it to be covered under warranty with the issues I have been through? It seems that this is also a common problem with this TV.
Please help

Troy..couldn't it simply be that the LAMP has gone out? I haven't read anything in the manuals about a "POWER SUPPLY REGULATOR 1901" thing-a-magig! These other folks' symptons sound JUST LIKE the "LAMP NEEDS REPLACING" SOLUTION, don't you have to agree? My screen has really grown dark===it's ESP. hard to see in the morning hours. I thought it musta been the earth's FALL seasonal rotation, bringing more A.M. ambient sunlitght into my Grand Room...sooo-I got DARKER Window Blinds to put behind the shears on my EAST-FACING French Doors...NAAAH ! That was just hopeful thinking on my behalf! haha
