Can only get black and white images when playing DVD's

I have a Bose 3·2·1? GS DVD home entertainment system and when playing dvd's can only get black and white pictures. I also have my sky (cable) tv set up with the system. I have tried doing what the troubleshooting in the manual suggests (to check the video connectors are solidly in place) anyone have any other ideas?

Check your settings - video format. It should be NTSC for USA standard. If it is set to European (PAL) it will be in black & white. Hope this helps.

I have the same problem with my dvd player soon as you turn it on the screen to the machine is in black and white on the tv its not the dvd its something to do with the tv's ability to switch over to color try connecting it to a dvd recorder that solves the problem most the time the problem is not always the menu stting s inside the machine its self some machines dont have a settings feature to make it in color its most likely something very easy to do the way i mentioned above should help you a little

SOURCE: Black and White images Only

Go to the menu system and change your system from NTSC to PAL, or vice versa. Instructions for this are on p.39 of the manual.

Can someone tell me how the picture is when playing a dvd to a hdry set. I heard it's not very good. Thanks John

Did you mean : playing a normal dvd on a HD tv? ....It will be fine. Check your dvd menu to see if it can upscale. If your using a huge tv you will notice some grain...but hopefully your not sat 2ft away!

Ipod nano connector for Bose 321 GS Series III

OK! The cheapeast and most simple way would for you is to get a 1/8th inch conector jack that adapts into red/white RCA jacks (it will have a couple feet of wire in between the jacks) plug the 1/8 inch adapter into the jack on I-POD and the RED/WHITE ends into the back of your systems aux inputs RED/WHITE! OR tape input ect! make sure I-POD is turned up! and you may have to adjust I pod eq to get the best sound out of system! (OH you can get this adatper at any radio shack or wall-mart!)
