RCA P52937SG my tv flips channels and won't stick to any one with use of the remote or the buttons on the tv itself, (it doesn't have guide plus marked on the outside of the TV anywherer) Simply put I can turn it on via remote (most times) or via the panel on the TV it starts Blipping on/off every say second and won't respond to the remote or (most times the control panel on the front of the TV) Next it starts flipping channels like it's looking for a signal meanwhile I'm constantly hitting the menu button and the channel up or down and there's no response. When i finally get the TV to a channel where I have cable box picture and hit menu at the same time (by the grace of god) it will show the menu (sometimes it will just scroll up and I can do nothing) sometimes I can go thru the set up and tell it cable and channel input 1 or whatever and it resets and is fine for a moment then it turns on recognizes the cable box channel and it starts comming in and out every second or so then it goes to flipping again. And Yes I have unplugged it for a bit and powered it back up again and still the longest it runs without interruption is a few hours? any ideas?

Replace the keyboard or remove the switches for channel up/down to see which one is bad. if neither does it, there are some components around the microprocessor that can cause this.

My rca tv turns off and on by itself

Is there a prankster nearby thast has a remote tuned to your set? As a young lad I used to play this trick on my neighbors daughter.

You should also investigate whether it is timed.. that is has a regular interval or time that it does happen. It could be another appliancwe doing this A/C ,Security system or some other eklectronic device. The dog has the remote under the cushion?

No audio...only static

This is caused by a corrupted signal being sent out by one of the stations you are watching. There is definitely NO PERMANENT SOLUTION to this problem. Just keep unplugging the TV.

Tv turns off by it self

Ours 60" (60P8342) turns off after a short period of time also. My husband researched it online. The cheap solution he was told to try is to unplug the TV (or plug into power strip and switch off) when you are done watching it. A computer board inside over heats and it's a protection mechanism for it to turn off. Otherwise, it's over $100 to fix the computer board.
