Anytime thaqt your air conditioner frezzes up,it is due to two main things.First of all its an air flow issue which is a result of dirty filter or dirty coil.......and the second issue could be a charge issue, either too much or not enough. But if it had been running fine for a while and then frezzes up,that would indicate an airflow issue.

Your air conditioner has frozen up. to much humidity. unplug it and let it thaw out. if it keeps doing this , get a dehumidifier for the room.

Air flow

Sounds like your evaporator is icing up. When the air is flowing over the evaporator it cools and dehumidifies the air. That water from the air will freeze over the evaporator and turn it into an Ice block. There could be many reasons this is happening. First check your air filter, crucial that it gets changed every 2 to 4 months, if its dirty then change it. Other reasons are that the condenser and or evaporator are dirty, could be low on refrigerant. Since you say the airflow is good at the beginning of the cycle then I'd rule out the fan having a problem.

So check your filter first but I highly recommend calling a pro to check the refrigerant level.

Unit will heat only will not cool and how to repair

we have a split type gree aircon, with one (1) horsepower. it was just newly installed, around 6 months ago. we are just surprised that one when my wife turned it on, thru the use of its remote control, the indicator box on the aircon reads or flashes "F2". I detached the batteries of the remote control for severa hours and I also detached the power cord from the wall socket, but it was to no avail. it did not work. with "F2" on the indicator box, the aircon won't give cool air, it is just working like an ordinary fan. please help us.

I have an LG 110 volt model-LWHD1200FR this is the 2nd summer we have used it and have always kept thermostat set to 60 deg. The last couple weeks the front coils have been caked with ice, what would cause...

Clean both the cond and evap coils if they don't let the air through
that can cause icing
Check for strong air flow front and rear

Cooling fins surrounding coils are freezing and

mcdevito75 here, Possibly, the filter needs cleaning / replacement, unit set to too cold. Shut A/C off, let the ice melt on it"s own DO NOT REMOVE ICE YOURSELF, those coils have the fren gas in them, when the ice is all melted restart unit, set temp. not so cold, around 60--65 degrees, and have exhaust to out. This shpoul;d help, you can always check with your local A/C repair shop, they come to the house.

The remote will turn on and work, but will not communicate with the air conditioner. We have to turn the air conditioner on manually to get it to work

Depending on the age of the unit. REmotes do go bad. Make sure you have it set on remote at the unit. I just installed one and had bad remote fron factory. Rusty

Cant make it blow out hot air.

You do not mention the model. Most aircon remotes have a mode button which has three or four icons. On cooling there will be a ice crystal icon on the lcd display. Pressing the mode button (sometimes behind a cover on the remote) this icon will change. You want to set it to the "sun" shaped icon
