When changing the print cartridge, the rubber band did not break

But came disconnected from whatever it was wrapped around or hooked on to on the right side only - where does it go?

  • bevguy6 Jan 29, 2009

I think so - it is a ridged band. It is not the clear tape or the sponge strip.

the rubber band? you mean the band that actually moves the entire printer head (cartirdge's carriage) ??

I do not know what you mean by clear tape or sponge strip but if by ridged you mean what i think then yeah we are pretty much taking about the rubber band that moves the carriage.

So it got off, huh... it normally happens when someone pulls way too hard the cartridges, anyways, if it got loosen from the right side you need to remove all covers and scanning unit.

to do this please remove the screws on the back side and then remove the black front covers, they are set by pressure on (and some plastic nails) so i recommend you to use a flat screw driver and gently pull. look up for little triangular marks or the plastic nails, any good pressure point. once those black covers are removed, unscrew the screws (i dont know if that's the proper expression sorry) you see and proceed to remove the plastic covers, they should come out easily. then you might not need to remove the scanning unit IF you actually can set the band on again. It goes around a little gear you can actually move towards your left to avoid stretching the band more than needed. good luck!!
if you nee dto remove the scnaning unit please unplug everything on the left side before. should be at least two flat cables and a few others.

Thomas engine keeps uncoupling.

Check the warranty. If still under, return it. Otherwise find a store that sells small black rubber bands, around 1/2" in diameter. Wrap one around the coupler behind the knuckle. Check to see if the coupler still opens. If it does move the rubber band either forward or backward until the coupler does not open.

XC820. All copies have a 3/8" wide dark band

There are a few different issues that it could be, the feed rollers could be dirty, as well as the belts into the fuser. Be really careful when opening copiers. Toner is really small particles of plastic that melt with low heat. Use a Hepa filter vacuum cleaner so you don't create a large mess. I suggest rubber gloves, q-tips and put down drop cloths or newspapers to protect the area around the copier. be really careful, most of the belts are mylar and are easy to break. Remember that toner is heat sensitive, brushing can cause it to melt. just try vacuuming first. if you get any on your hands, use cold water and mild soap.

Burning rubber smell when turned on. checked the belt-is ok.

Take the bottom off as if to change the belt and remove the brush assembly from the VAC. Take the ends off the roller and clean out the string and hair and whatever is wrapped around the end bushings and reinstall. Should free-up the roller Brush and stop the resistance on the belt to motor shaft. Or your belt is streched out and should be replaced, they don't always have to Break to be bad.

My printer does not pick up the paper sheets from the paper tray. When I took paper sheet in to slot it works.

Well - I don't know if this will solve it (since there could be many causes) but it worked for me.

1 - Remove Paper Tray
2 - look at rubber rollers in printer undercarriage
3 - carefully remove "rubber bands" from roller
4 - turn rubber bands inside out and carefully return to rollers

5 - remove toner cartridge
6 - remove print drum assembly
7 - return printer drum assembly and toner cartridge

the roller trick helps the printer pick up paper
the toner/print drum trick helps reseat the inner workings of the printer correcting any misalignments that impede paper flow

There are no known vacum bags for a model wd06350 vac

This type of vacuum does not use a bag. If you are worried about clogging the filter cartridge try using a paper filter for a shop-vac. They are relatively cheap and are available at most hardware and department stores. These are made to simply wrap around the big cartridge. A rubber band will hold it in place.

Beater keeps falling out. The plastic thing at the top of the beater inside the mixer needs to be replaced. Where can I get the part?

Loud clicking noise

Power the machine on with drum and toner removed, check for noise....

It will be either the Fuser, Toner or the drum.

If it is non gen. or refill toner, fault found.

The drum is a normal consumable that you change every 3 to 4 toner cartridges, so if any of you have used more than 4 toners and havent changed the drum, I'd say that we have found your problem.

......now to the hangers on .....

Fuser, thats the hot bit at the back, these have a gear that cracks because the whole fuser assemble is old, brittle and stiff, you can pull it all apart and change the gear and be off, but soon it will more than likely break again, I know cause if I do that as the fix they come back within 6mnts.

Replace fuser, or have it replaced

Fuser is a HiVolt, HiTemp part. Caution!!!!
