Question about Samsung RB1955 Bottom Freezer Refrigerator

1 Answer

My refrigerator is warm and ice build up is happening in the fridge

My samsung refrigerator is warm. I had a repairman come and he told me to defrost the fridge- after which the fridge still did not work. He came back and checked and replaced the fan which he said was broken. The fridge worked for about 8 days and now is not working anymore. The fridge temperature is set at 4 but it is reading at 9. The freezer works as I am told it has its own separate cooling system and the tempature for the freezer appears to be acurate at -20. The repairman thinks it is a defrost problem but when I asked him if he knew how to fix it he was silent. What are some possible reasons the fridge is not defrosting properly-I know the fan works because it is new. Also what is reasonable for repairs as I have already paid out 250. Thanks Seefa

There is a timer that controls the refrigerator defrost cycles. This is located behind the kick panel at the bottom of the refrigerator. Remove the panel and look for a dial-like device toward the front. Try to manually turn the timer dial and listen for an audible click. No click, no defrost. Call a NEW repairman and have him check the defrost timer. Hope this helps.

Samsung RS267LBSH/XAA evaporators (both the refrigerator and freezer sides) building up with frost. It works fine for about a week after defrosting with blow dryer, and then same problem happens.

Your defrost heaters are not working. The unit takes a week to freeze up and presto - poor cooling. Melt the ice and it works fine again till it freezes up again. Did you check out the defrost timer? Make sure that the defrost elements are not open.

Why won't my samsung rb193kasb freezer fan run and the freezer is warm? How do i fix this?

On some Samsung frdge-freezers,fan blades get stuck in ice build-up inside refrigerator compartment due to automatic de-frost not working properly. If you have time, simply switch off and leave fridge door open, and allow defrost to happen naturally. Alternatively, speed up defrost using bowls of hot water, and remove panel at back when enough ice has melted

Kenmore classic bottom freezer refrigeration warm but freezer is cold

I would guess you have just caused a build up of ice to block the air way, which normally takes cold air into the fridge. manually defrost (unplug and wait until the ice goes away) then restart and it should be fine

Possible problem with ice build up and fridge doesnt get cold enough to store food. Freezer works fine.

The noise is due to the ice build up in your evaporator. The evaporator fan blade is rubbing against the ice build up. This can is designed to turn off when you open the door. As far as the defrost problem it can be your defrost bimetal thermostat, the defrost timer/control or your defrost heater.

Its defrost problem. Try manual defrost by unplugging the refrigerator from main power outlet for 24 hours then reconnect it and check, if the same problem is noticed again,. If yes then its defrost board problem. The defrost board located in the back of fridge section. You can get required parts from www.repairclinic.com or from online sears part site. ------------- Thank you.

Freezerr goes into automatic defrost then fridge gets warm due to ice build up.

If your saying that it get warm while in defrost, you will need a termination thermostat. If your saying that even though it goes into defrost it gets warm due to ice build up. You will most likely need a new heater. If it's broken it will not heat up and defrost the ice. I'm just not sure what your asking.
