SOURCE: Nikon D40 will not take a picture.

I fixed it!! Turn the lens to Manual mode (moving to M). Twist the very tip of the lens till it unlocks.

If you twist the lens on the end far enough on the end to the right you will find it "locks". This is what is causing the screeching sound,, it's locked and can't auto focus. Twist the very end to the left till it releases. This fixed it for me.

First, peel off the label, or as much of it as you can. Then, use a rag with a LITTLE WD40 on it to remove the adhesive residue.

Just purchased a finepix s1800 and fitted new batterys but it wont turn on . can anyone help. thanks nige

Many times these digital camera require photo lithium batteries or rechargeables. I recommend you Purchase these first and try it out. Many times the standard household batteries just do not have enough power to turn on digital cameras. If you are still experiencing problems after new batteries then return back to store for another camera because that model may have a problem.

If you really want to use the Finepix program and you've been to the support section of the Fuji website to download any software updates, then I suggest you get a card reader and download the pics to a folder you create on your desktop. Once there, you can send them to the Finepix program. typrice_88.jpg

My camera freezes when I'm looking through the pictures on it. It stops on one pic and I can't continue to scroll. It also did once when I was taking pictures- the screen went black and I couldn't do...

Are you sure of that model number? I went to Fujifilm's website to get more information, and the S1800 FinePix doesn't show up, either in current or discontinued models, but there is a FinePix S8100 shown. Did you possibly invert the first two numbers?
Also with digital cameras they sometimes do not do well in extreme weather conditions, i.e. either too hot or too cold, are you operating in extreme conditions?

I was taking pictures for my photography class and after 3-4 pictures in, the camera froze. I turned it off and on and it did it again. When I tried to check the photos I took, it told me "read error". So,...

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

My FinePix S1800 Fujifilm Digital SLR camera says Frame No. Full''

Go to set up then Frame and change to RENEW. It is probably on continuous. My camera did the same thing and this solved it.
Apparently even thought the card is empty if it is on continuous it will start the picture numbering where you left off last time.
