Same here. Black spring with bent tips. Don't know where it goes. I was removing the cover of the the load mechanism for cleaning when it came loose. This unit was working, it just wouldn't load a disk sometimes.

I suggest you take the player to an experienced technician to find out where the spring goes. If you want to try yourself, a careful visual inspection should reveal where it came from, although a magnifying glass may be needed. It is also possible that the spring caused damage to the electronics, in which case a technician will be needed.

CD stuck in ps3 horrible noise cant get out HELP!!!

I had the same symptoms. The reason to my problem was that my 2 year old has pushed *three* disks into the console. I got them out through the following, admittedly pretty weird, approach: I hit the eject button, while gently prodding with another disk into the slot (at a slight upward angle). I could feel the disks inside the console rotating or vibrating as I was *gently* touching them with the fourth disk and hitting eject repeatedly. Somehow, the gentle prodding made one of the disk come out a bit, so I could pull it out easily. (I was pretty surprised when a second disk came out, and then a third.)

Cd/dvd rom cd not working

I would first suggest to clean the drive with a cleaning disc, can be purchased at any electronics store, it's a cd with microfober brushes on it that cleans the drive as this disc spins.

CDPops Out *EDITED*

Does it pop out immediately? If not, listen carefully to the drive after you insert the disc. Can you hear the disc spinning? Any activity from the laser? If the disc is not spinning but you can hear the faint whirring and clicking of the laser transport, it could be that the laser itself has failed - it's the laser that detects if a CD is present. If it doesn't detect anything (due to being knackered!), the disc will not spin and will eject.
