How to use BA7500G on another computer

My BA7500G speakers came on a Gateway PC, vintage 2000 Milennium Edition, and I want to use the speakers with a Toshiba laptop. I have a Sound MAX Integrated Digital Audio sound card in the computer. Do I need a BA7500G driver to make the system work, or what? I can only find driver updates, no drivers. Thanks. Ed

I have the same problem except i'm using a macbook and i'm trying to connect the speakers. My macbok accommodates optical digital audio output, but you have to buy a  a standard toslink cable with a toslink mini-plug adapter.  Since the speaker input is a digital coaxial (not fiber, optical) you have to buy a Digital Fiber Optical (Toslink) to Digital Coaxial (S/PDIF) Converter.  i haven't tried it, but i hope this solves our problem. i have the toslink now i just have to buy the converter. good luck to you.

I can use this speakers with Sony Vaio machine. (But, in Jpan)
a) I change from the optical digital audio output on Sony Vaio to the digital coaxial output(S/PDIF) by the converter,
b) and then, with the exchange adapter, I change from the digital coaxial output to mini-plug.
Following is the using materials.
a) audio-technica; AT-HDSL1
b) Acro's;audio-adapter AVC-208

So, if you can find the same materials, this speakers will work surely.I hope this will be your help.
Sorry for my bad English. Good luck!

Hi Ed!

Nahh, you dont need any drivers to make the speakers work with your laptop.
Just connect the speakers to your laptop M8! They will work fine!

Good luck to you

Do i need a driver for old gateway gmax2000 speakers connected to an old acer-based home built pc my nephew gave me?

No you don't need a driver. These are very plain powered speakers that come with a mains adapter and a lead with a 3.5mm stereo jack at both ends. Plug one in the speaker and the other into the headphone jack on the front or the speaker socket on the back which will either be a socket on the motherboard, or if your son put a sound card in the computer, it will be in a sound card. If it doesn't play straight away, go into Settings - Audio and make sure the sound card or the On-Board Audio is enabled.

This shows the cable

I have a SONY laptop and want to play my Boston BA7500g speakers, do I need a driver?

No you shouldn't as only audio signal can be sent through the cables. Just make sure you plug them into the correct audio ports.

Boston BA7500G Speakers with no sound.

Well we have eliminated the laptop as a problem,.. that is very good. As far as what the problem with your BA unit is,.. we only know that it does not function with an external device (laptop and mp3 player). you already mentioned that a sound test from the unit plays through all the speakers,. right? With that lets start with the most basic item that will cause this problem,.. the cable that comes from the BA unit and plugs into the laptop or mp3 player. Is the cable plugged into the right place on the BA unit? Does the cable disconnect from the the BA unit? if so, do both ends of the cable look the same or is there 2 ends (maybe red and white) that plug into the BA unit? Please let me know when you can and we can continue troubleshooting this.

No sound

Try plugging in earphones to see if the problem is the speakers or the output from your computer. Also, your computer output may be low power output for powered speakers and your speakers are not compatable. You may also be plugged in to the wrong output on your computer.

My BA7500g digital speakers don't work with my iMac

They only work for a digital signal. Mac's like nearly all other normal speaker outputs, put out an analog signal. So they'll work with a computer that puts out a digital signal.

How to hook up a boston acoustic ba7500g speaker

you can connect the BA7500G speakers to a regular digital coaxial output by using a cable that has an RCA plug on one end and a stereo minijack on the other. However, the pole of the RCA must connect to the tip of the stereo minijack and the shield of the RCA must connect to the middle ring on the stereo minijack. Also set your soundcard to output at 16bit and 48khz.
