Hotpoint Aquarius WD440 Error

Hotpoint Aquarius WD440 washer/dryer machine has recently starting stopping mid-cycle with the Rinse Hold light flashing along with the On/Off light flashing. This is just before it takes in the conditioner and leaves the clothes wet as well so no spin. Any ideas what the problem is?

why does the on/off, drying high heat, reduce creases, time saver lights continually flash when I attempt to any wash programme. It sounds like the machine is filling up with water for about 2 mins then eventually stops and nothing happens.

Remove the white plastic cover on the back near the bottom. To the right as you look at it their will be a black concertina pipe with a hose clip on its top edge. Undo this and pull the pipe downwards to reveal the filter. There will be a plastic ball inside (which is supposed to be there) remove this and clear out the cr*p.

Re-assemble as removal.

That should fix it

Some machines have a visible filter at the front, low down, if one cannot be seen then it is inside the machine under the drum, you have to lean the machine back (unplug it first!) and unscrew a clip on the rubber hose to release the plastic filter, you may find some coins in there, good luck!

Open the top and the grey thing to the right houses the filter towards the back.

SOURCE: my hotpoint aquarius wd440 has flashing lights

First of all try cleaning the filter inside the back as described by others if this does not work there is a filter in the top. how you clean this is quite easy. all you do is remove the top of the machine by undoing the 2 screws at the back then pull top top backwards when you have removed the top you well see a large metal casing on the left if you are looking from the the back of the machine the filter is in there to remove the casing you pull the small pipe off then undo 5 star headed screws then gently pull the casing off noteing that there is a large pipe at the front when you have remover the casing you will see the filter (the small pipe you removed at the start fits on this filter) clean the filter then put it all back together.
