Question about Samsung HCL4715W 47" Rear Projection Television

TV won't power on

My Samsung HCL4715W rear projection TV won't power on. It won't respond to either the remote or the power button. I unplugged it and when I plugged it in there would be a pair of clicks and the TIMER LED on the front panel would illuminate, then the LED would go dark and the "click-LED on" sequence would repeat over and over again.

Disconnect the convergence board and see if the set comes on. If it does, and it probably will, replace the convergence board or the convergence amp IC's. Good Luck

Convergence Board for hcl4715w Samsung TV

Part can be found at http://www.vancebaldwin.com - the part is located on the floor of the tv, inside, the middle board. You will have to unplug the tv, carefully remove the back (and front speaker cover) of the tv, and unplug all of wires coming into it. You will also have to remove all of the screws holding it down. The replacement part will fit exactly into the same place - screw the screws back in, plug the wires back into the same place (if you've ever replaced memory in a computer, this will feel very familiar). Once everything is plugged back up, plug in the tv and restart, then run the smart convergence from the remote.

If your TV does not power up, and you have made VERY sure everything is plugged in correctly, then the board you've purchased may be faulty. Return it for a new one. The boards are fragile and can be bad straight out of the box (like computer memory *smile*).

Best wishes -

48inch Samsung Tantum Rear Projection, turns on then turns itself off again straight away!

Your power button may be stuck? Depress it with the TV unplugged. Make sure that the button is moving in and out properly. If this does not fix the problem, it probably needs service by an authorized service center.

Samsung HCL4715W will not power on

At five years old, I doubt it will be worth replacing the power supply , a picture tube or two and possible the signal board. Cut your loses and get a new set.
