No background music in games such is Battlefield 2, COD2
My problem is that speakers work fine but in some games(BF2, Call of Duty 2,...) they dont play any background music just usual sounds when you click button; also when i play i dont hear my own gun's fire but i'm able to hear reloading sound(insertion of full magazine, ejection of cartiges)and all other voices and sounds.
i have adjusted settings in Windows XP to 5.1 and also in creative software
i have Audigy 2 ZS, Intel celeron 2.6GHz, 1GB ddr, intel bayfield mobo
i checked settings and they are no sign of DTS, Dolby Digital, etc. support, just quality of sound and volume....
still i haven't solved this out...i checked settings and they are no sign of DTS, Dolby Digital, etc. support, just quality of sound and volume....

I would check what sound settings your individual games are running at. Sometimes when you have the sound set to something your speakers don't fully support (DTS, Dolby Digital, etc.) you'll get some sound and not others. This also happens when you try to push sound to a different number of speakers then you have (5.1 sound to 2.1 speakers, etc.)

Most of the sounds you are hearing good are background sounds. If you are running a surround system, you might want to try adjusting the output of your primary speakers, checking for the correct setting on your receiver, and verifying that your central audio is in the correct section ( receiver output ).
If you are not using surround sound, Check the in-game menu (Pause) for an audio section, some games allow you to turn the character voices up and the music down. If you don't have that option, try using a new output cord from your xbox to Tv.
Most BF2 crashes to desktop have to do with Memory problems as it tends to be VERY memory intensive so checking out your memory with memtest86 (or upgrading to more memory) might be a good first step.
Alternatively here is a BF2 troubleshooting guide:
if the cd key was obtained online because the original was lost that would be the reason for that message. if thats not the case, you have two options 1. email ea games 2. buy new bf2 game(its gotten cheap). after spending hours on this same issue, i went with option 2 myself.
well if you have registered the game... you should contact EA they will give you all the product keys..!! if not you will have to use keys which are blacklisted by EA...!!
Depending on how old your computer is you might need to buy a new updated graphics card. yours might be to old to support the game. Even new computers sometimes have old garphic cards
Suggest that some sound in the game set up is at low or on muit.
the speakers ar dumb thay willonly play sounds from the pc the speakers do not decide not play some sounds and not others.
