Can you clarify for me? It is true that the Sony Playstation 1 and 2 will not play on a flat screen TV and that you might ruin your TV?
No, this is an urban legend unless you have a flat panel TV and are leaving it on games with fixed graphics. For example, leaving the GT2 game and playing it for 8 hours straight on a plasma may burn in the speedometer, etc... but honestly even next gen consoles have this type of graphics. If you have a Plasma or older LCD, just DONT have graphics sit still, period. Also, pixellation issues lend people to believe that the large squares are signs of burn in. They arent, just that if staying the same color for a long time they make for NASTIER burn-in. Hope this helps!

The price on the PS3 will not drop for a long while. How about you let your kids use the old TV downstairs for the older games, and only tv on the new TV!
If that is not an option, just make sure the TV is switched to sports after every hour or 2 of gameplay like those racing games i mentioned. Make it the Bravia for now!
SOME older games will play on the PS3, but there are lists available on Sony's site and they are "ever-working towards 100% compatibility." This is the same situation microsoft has with XBox 360!
Please mark this as solved now, i would much appreciate it! Thanks!

No, I was going to buy the Sony Bravia but the kids are freaked they will not be able to play with the various Sony Playstations--1 & 2. They play the older games like Tomb Raider, GT1, etc. So, I have an old JVC TV--which I want to get rid of, but I am not ready to buy the PS3 for several reasons (1) waiting for price to drop and (2) I was told they could not play their older games on a PS3. Your thoughts are appreciated.
One last question.....will the older games play on the Playstation 3? I really have appreciated your advice.
Thank you so much for you time.
