Question about Kenwood KCA-BT100 Wireless Headset
When I first connect my Nokia N95 with the bluetooth to my KCA BT100 through my KDC W7537U it all works fine. Answering calls and making calls In the car stereo Phone Select menu list it shows the phones ID as a long set of Alpha numerics, not the N95 blue toothname as I expected. You can turn the phone on and off and the phone connects automatically and recieves & makes calls fine. If I turn my Stereo off and on the N95 reconnects with out an issue showing the car kit symbol on the phones display. However the phone no longer recieves calls or can make calls over the bluetooth connection. In the Car Stero Phone select menu list the long Alpha numeric name has now changed to the Bluetooth name set in the Phone. Any clues as to what the problem is? I have reflashed the N95 with its latest software, and it still shows the problem. The phone works with other Bluetooth headsets. I have also used other Nokia products on my car stereo system and they seem to be ok. Some appear with the long serial number and others have the phone bluetooth id name when working and the stereo is turned off and on. I don't expect to hear back a working solution.... Also I can not stream music from the N95 even when the bluetooth does seem to be connected properley and can receive calls. So I am deleting the phone in the "Phone Select" menu and re-pairing the phone every time I want to use my BT 100. Not very high tech or clever.
The problem is on the kca end of things. If you pair your phone and all works well walk away from the car and the connection is lost but once you return to the car it reconnects automaticly. If however you turn the stereo off you have to re-pair the devices to get them to work.
Is there anyway to alter the settings of the kca bt-100?

I can confirm that the released 20.0.015 firmware I installed just
before Christmas has entirely fixed the call related problems; I can
just pair my N95 and Kenwood as authorised and let them get on with it.
What still does not work, but is not the end of the world, is the
streaming of audio files (e.g,. playing MP3s, and slightly more
irritatingly voice-guidance from the satnav): you just hear nothing.
However, ringing works; I believe this is coming from the phone, as well as the Kenwood beeping to announce an incoming call.

I also had to get a new phone - they change often, faster than the compatibility list can be updated. Solution - start at the list http://www.kenwood.com/bt/bt100/ and buy a compatible model or get a replacement for a compatible model.

I've got the same issue, here is a workaround: Turn of the Bluetooth functionality on your phone. Then select your BT100 device in your device list on your phone and select 'connect to audio device'. Now you can call and receive calls using the handset or radio and have audio routed to your speakers. You'll have to re-connect this way each time you step into your car. BTW: Authorize or unauthorize doesn't matter.

This is just the worse news ever! I have just forked out a small fortune for a Kenwood DNX 7200 head unit with BT100. When I collected my car from the shop today and was going through it's demo with the installer, he asked me what phone I had. I proudly produced my Nokia N95 and he just said to me "Oh no"! He told me that they were just not compatible and that its best to get a new phone. It has only worked once properly with the BT100 since that time. It connects no problem, but as above stats, the on screen head unit just does not work. I can call numbers from the handset, but this does not come through the speakers only the phone. So my solution at the moment is to get a new phone for the time being until a fix comes out so that we can use the wonderful Nokia N95!!!

Well... I'm sure mine worked ONCE! I have the BT100 and KDC-W7534U. It worked fine with my Nokia N80 but with my Nokia N95 It connects fine but i cant hear or be heard when the call is answered.Interestingly I cannot use the headunit to dial a number anymore. If i was to be on a call BEFORE connecting the headunit then it works. But once the call ends and i select an input source - the phone has the same symtoms as above again. I have checked all the profile settings and set the enhancment to be active on the active profile. I thought Bluetooth was a standard and it was just meant to work if it was bluetooth compliant! ...Grrrrrr!

I have re-flshed the phone with the latest software from Nokia. I have tried several variants of software for the N95 but no joy.
I would say that I tried a friends N95 with Orange Software and this seemed to be working ok. it still connected and made calls when I turned the unit off and on.
I can not get hold of the orange software to flash onto my phone to try so I may have to buy a new one from orange.
It would appear to be an issue with the paired device "set as Authorised" setting in the bluetooth menu.
If the phone connects to the Head unit or BT100 then it seems to work. If the Headunit/BT100 auto attempts to connect and does (whether on auto or if you select Yes to allow connection) the Bluetooth pairing does not work properley.
So the best fix so far is to Set your N95 pairing to "Unauthorised" and only connect to the headunit via your phones Bluetooth pairing in the list. Do not accept connection if you see it on the screen.
Hi Again,
You will be pleased to know that I updated my Nokia N95 with an internal Nokia Release of Software (still being tested, so not yet released to the public) Which seems to have fixed the fault I discribed above.
The Software version I am using which is V20.0.11 at the moment the current release is V12.0.13 which still has the error.
So hold on the fix is in the pipe line...
Im not getting the number key pad on my screen, i have the kvt-819dvd, to the kca-bt100, using a nextel blackberry 7560
I just bought the KDC w4537ug Radio and the KCA bt100. My phone connected the very first time, but will not work on auto connection. The phone BT set seems say its connected but call does not work through speakers.
Have a N95 and THB Full car kit with Take and Talk BT for N95 only. (latest model 02-22-0212-0 Ve 01/AG. Pairs up and connection ok, but when you go back to the vehicle, or switch off N95 the connection is lost. The only way it will work again is to pair up again.
Any help please
