Our microwave is around 3 years old. it still runs, but does not heat food. Is there a way to repair it??
It could be any multitude of issues from a faulty magnetron,a bad high voltage diode, a door switch issue or a faulty circuit board. A magnetron for your model is ~ the $60 area. A Circuit board is ~ the $100.00 mark. If your a wiz at electronics I would say give it a go and try to repair it yourself. Otherwise I would say that a new microwave oven would be your best bet. A technician may charge you up to $250 for the work they will do, bringing you to around the same cost of a new microwave with a warranty. Hope this helps. P.S. If you are interested in buying the parts and fixing it yourself, may I recommend this site: http://www.repairclinic.com They are top notch and really helpful.
