Less then 5 minutes runtime at minimal load

When there is low load level connected to my Compaq T1000H or R3000H (ex. 1 monitor to a r3000h), turns off after ca. 5 minutes. Restarting the ups runs another 5 minutes and turns off again. I think this is a matter of settings. Can anyone help me where can I set this option ? Which software or can it be done from its hardware ?

The batteries were changed 2 months ago. I wrote that the ups turns off automatically running on batteries after 5 minutes with minimal load, but I can restart it pushing the ON button, and like this runs for another 5 minutes and so on. (without recharging). I can repeat this x times, the batteries are full and don't discharge so quickly with this minimal load...
I have the failsafe and lansafe software but haven't found any setting regarding to this.

You gave no reasons why you thought it was simply a software setting, so I gave you a link below for some management software. The HP R3000 UPS supports HP Power Management Software (CPM) version 1.8. http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/proliantstorage/power-protection/software/legacy-software.html In addition the HP R3000 UPS also supports the LanSafe III management software (discontinued). My first question is: When were the batteries last changed? If they haven't been changed in 3 or so years, then it's probably low batteries, meaning they are old and cannot take a charge anymore. Starts easily, run for 5 to 20 minutes and then

If the fuel filter (strainer) is OK, carb gives enough fuel for the load you apply, air filter is dry and clean, your problem may be the low oil level protection.
Check if generator is at level position.
After the oil is distributed in all the engine its level may go less than the measuring sensor level. Try to put some more (not much) oil.
If this will not help your measuring sensor may be bad and switch off when the oil gets hot.

Blinking lights

The problem is, is that while the unit is not overloaded (too much plugged in) either the batteries are close to failure, OR more likely you have so much plugged in you have less than 2 minutes of runtime.

Try removing some devices, lower the load. The row of green lights on the left is your load level indication, you want no more than 4 lit usually, 80% load is the most recommended. This will allow more runtime and should stop the flashing.

The flashing is just ment to alert you to less than two minutes of runtime.

If you have 80% load or less, and it still flashes, press and hold the on/test button until it clicks over to battery, the unit will now run a self test and switch back to main power after a few seconds and it should stop blinking.

If you want a copy of your user manual, you can find it here: http://www.refurbups.com/KB-M-Smartups (the Smart-UPS 1000)

Compaq Presario v2000 notebook reduced battery life

you may try:
1) check the battery alarm at windows power managment, to set 5-10% alarm level.
2) discharge the battery to the empty then charge longer time, you need monitoring how long it charged (see charge lights change), need to change new one if charging time much less then before(less then 10-20 minutes)..
3) plug-in AC adapter monitoring charging current,
this step you need a current meter to make a series connection in the circuite, the battery is over life cycle if the current less then 500mA.

Problem with Compaq UPS T1000h

I had a problem like this one, check the voltage from the generator , if the output from the generator is to high (over 240 Volts european standard voltage), the voltage protection (VDR resistors ) will brake the fuse to protect your UPS.
and also check the frequency of the generator, it has to be very stabile around 50HZ (european standard frequency)

PC or monitor, signal problems

your monitor is telling you it's on it's last legs..either that or your compaq has a bad video section. either is more vital than a video cable being loose.
