Press and hold the centre button and the top 'Menu' button (on the outer ring) for 10seconds or until the Apple icon comes up - which ever happens first.
This reboots the 'computer' just as you would you desktop computer, where as "turning off" the ipod or putting it to 'sleep' is only a form of standby mode and as we all know, computers like a restart now and then.

Hi there,

You may need to reset your ipod using the following steps:

1. Slide the "Hold" switch to "hold" and then turn it off again.

2. Press and hold the Menu and Select or Center buttons for like 8-10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.

That's it! Please let me know how this goes. Thanks for using FixYa.

White screen! wont go on

Try to reset the iPod by holding down the menu and center button - usually need to put the iPod on a table and use 2 fingers.. Hold for about 5 seconds till the Apple logo appears. Otherwise try a restore in iTunes but that erases everything. JC

My ipod nano wont do anything

I think your ipod is dead. This happened to me to. I was listening to it when I arrived at my destination, and I thought I turned it off and I put it in my pocket. Later that day when I went to listen to it, it wouldn't turn on at all. Aparently, it had stayed on. Hold the pause button for five to ten seconds. The apple symbol will appear on your ipod. Immeadility put it in your docking station before it goes away. Your ipod will turn on, and itwill start charging.

I hope this helps. Please rate my solution.
