hi, sounds like a power surge , unplug the computer open the case . you might need a light , now look for vga next too the vga are some capasiters sometimes after a surge they expand and leak .also look around the power plug.if every is find there, next it might be the power supply not putt out enough volts to the vga or the motherbaord . thanks hope i been some help
If you are not getting video, have you tried to reinstall the VGA driver? Just a thought. You can get it by typing your model number into the search box on the Asus support site.(Just use P5GL-MX.)

The drivers you need for that ethernet on that board is Realtek RTL8100C Ethernet Device Driver V5.621.304.2005 You will find them on that site above, download and instal them
Yes you can use either Geforce 7300 or 7600 on this motherboard they are compatible with it, there shouldn't be any compatibility issue abetween this MOBO and any of those video cards...
