SONY LIB-81 Error on LCD screen - Drive Information 51
Been having a number of problems with our Sony LIB-81 and Arcserve 11.
Numerous errors on Arcserve Job Display Status:

Have checked SCSI cables and IDs and nothing untoward there.
Just don't know if it's the drive that's faulty.

Same issue. Loaded latest firmwares, new tapes, new cleaning tape. Ensured jobs were set up correctly. Backup will fail intermittently, and claim new tapes are bad. Drive information 51 comes up on the unit as well as Drive information 40

Re:
I think this sounds like the drive is having a issue loading and moving the tape in slot 1.
AIT units are known for having this kind of problem.
Try a cleaning tape and then a new tape fresh out the wrapper for a test backup.
if it fails with a known good tape then its time to send it out for repair

There are some common problem for this model: 1. Power cycles on off with no error codes. (not screen on off) G1 board failure. Part # 1-468-980-12 2. LVDS cable failure my cause picture comes and goes. Part # 1-832-470-11 This information reference Sony tech support.
The error 80022A07 is a widespread problem at the moment and has been happening since 11/11/09. This current error is actually caused by Sonys Servers and they are working on a fix presently.
According to Sony this error is occurring because of "Database and Server Overloads". This is blamed on the large number of Games releases and several updates being released at the moment and is not profile specific.
In other words too many people are using the servers all at one time.
The only thing you can do at present is wait until Sony have resolved the server issue as this is effecting the majority of users at present.
You can be assured that the problem does not lie on your end and hopefully this Tip will save you spending hours looking for a resolution.

·9 times, Diagnosis: Audio error. Possible causes: +- 19V line is shorted. (A, B boards), IC708 is faulty. (A board), PS701 or PS702 is opened. (A board). Symptoms of the problem: No sound Hopefully, the descriptions of the blinking lights and the symptoms and problems will point you in the right direction to tell the problem with you Sony Projection Screen Television. If it is not enough, do not worry -- in the coming few posts I will talk about entering the Diagnosis and Service modes for your television set!
The title of your post suggests that you have "Maga RAID" errors. Maga RAID messages would be in line with issues on the LSIPERC sub-system.
However, the extract posted in your suggests network problems.
Any number of physical to driver and configuration issues can result in network problems.
Try the basic checks;
1. Change or try a known patch cable
2. Run "ping" test to a known good system connected to same network switch or direct connect with a "cross-over" cable and check for dropped connections.
3. Is the NIC and switch set to Auto-Negotiation or static at 10, 100 or 1000Mbps speed
4. Can you try another switch
5. Check and load correct or latest manufacture's drivers
I had/have a similar problem with a SONY SDX-700C.
Emailed Sony tech support (very helpful) who suggested sending them the diagnostics from their TapeTool utility (qv). They then recommended running the cleaning tape 3 times, which seems to get it working (but the 'clean me' light still comes on every 7-10 backups). Hope this helps.
Please perform a erase operation and check if the drive does it, If its not then go ahead and check the SCSI controller if you have a spare one replace it.
Wonderign if you tried to install this on the RAID controller....big nono and cause this very issue...try a different SCSI controller...hopefully you ahve one onboard NOT raid.
hope that helps
