Blury ,double vision, and cant brighten up

This is most certainly a display problem, as in, a problem with the LCD panel. I used to fix 4 or 5 LCD's a day and had a few with the same problem. It can be fixed by being replaced.

Try a head cleaning cartridge.

see attached photos--if looks like that it needs two chips and/or a few resistors replaced--total parts cost at say SUBURBAN ELECTRONICS under 25 dollars.

There is a bad capacitor on the power board of the television that is why you are having the blurry double vision on the television. Have the power board checked for bad capacitors that need to be replaced.

ok well when you can see the menu the best go to options then to display then there should be an area that allows you to brighten or darken the screen turn it up then it should fix the proublem

There seems to be two problems with the unit. The first symptom indiates your convergence IC's needs to be replaced. The second symptom coud be a several things, 1. Bad connections on the Crt board of the green tube, 2. The 200v screen bias voltage supplied by the flyback could have bad connections on it. Seems you have intermittent cold solder joints. Check the D board around the Flyback area for bad connections, or old grey looking solder connections all should look shiny. 3. The Green Crt maybe going faulty, the lines going thru the picture are scan lines and indicates that the Screen controls are to high. But i know you have'nt adjusted these so i would suspect the Green Crt is Faulty. But check solutions 1&2 first, One way to find out if its bad is to unplug the green crt board from the tube and turn the set on if it stays on and does'nt shut down then it is faulty, also while turning on look at the crt's neck for sparks which indicates arching in the tupe and will need to be replaced. Replacing the Convergence IC's will solve the distorted pic issue.

what kind of tv?sounds like a convergence circuit problem.
