Reset phone for new user

My cousin gave me a phone after up grading his. how do i reset the phone back to the defalt mode, as if i had just bought the phone

Have you tried a master reset? Settings -> General Tab -> Reset Settings or Reset All -> Continue Hope this helps.

I got a phone from my cousin but he forgot to give me the passwor
The passwords are to protect misuse of the device by unauthorised persons, you included. Hence, there is no way that you can use it without reinstalling the firmware whether you do it yourself or AT&T does it. Would it not be cheaper to locate your cousin and ask him the password.

Cousin gave my kid her old nokia 6103B for t-mobile we use at&t
where are you located, you can usually google cell phone experts in your area to unlock the phone, it is usually about 50 bucks but i may be more with a side kick unfortunatly. You need special software that can give you unlock and puk code. Your best bet would be to ask your local att store, NOT CORPORATE. usually a parrot att or a retail location the associates are glad to give out that information.
