Upgrade to Windows XP, for two reasons:
* Microsoft stopped supporting Windows 98/ME a few years ago,
and so did Canon.

states:
No drivers are available for this selection. This operating system may not require a driver or, in the case of older operating systems, may no longer be supported.
Or, purchase a different printer that advertises compatibility with Windows ME.

Download the software from Canon's web site. Like any other printer.
