Question about Philips MMS171 Computer Speakers

1 Answer

Sub issues I was playing my music off my cpu at a regular volume on these speakers that I've had since christmas and have had no problems up to this point. I had my music going and then all of the sudden the music stopped and all you can hear is a deep humming bass. The volume control does nothing, all the cables are in the right place so im not really sure why its making the noise.

Would suggest that the power amp in side the speakers havs failed. Try to plug the speakers into a ipod then you can prove if tis the speakers or the Pc.

I have a MTS surround sound system and when i put the volume up the woofer turns off. whats wrong with it? and how can i fix that

Seems you are over driving the unit and causing it to overheat and the protective circuits are kicking in. U need a more powerful system to play at the volumes you want.

I've got a vsx-920-k Pioneer receiver with s-11 Pioneer speakers and a s-21w Pioneer subwoofer. All of a sudden my sub stopped working and it seems like it's stuck in standby mode (blue light...

The manual is here...

Flashing Blue is not defined in the manual.

Have you tried changing the Auto Standby switch to ON?

You can prove if the sub amp will respond to a known good input by TURNING ITS VOLUME DOWN tp start and just feeding it ANY RCA output from the receiver while playing, say, FM (to keep it simple). That way you would known in which direction the problem actually lies (internal or external).

Logitech Z-5300 subwoofer from computer to i-pod problem...

The best thing to do is to contact the manufacturers. From this i understood that your speaker system is new. You surely have the manufacturer's guarantee. So its better to contact them than to get it repaired or replaced for free. Sir please do not try to open the sub as it will void the guarantee policy.

Hope your subs come into play as soon as possible.......
All the best...

Amp playing speakers very quietly

it sounds like you have the polarity of the speakers hooked up wrong on one of them, try unhooking the new speakers you added and hook them back up one by one, when the music gets fuzzy then reverse the wires for that speaker, this should cure your problem.
