Question about HP LaserJet 4345mfp Printer

Pale print on PDF files

I have a print quality problem (pale print consistent all over page) when printing PDF files on the HP 4345MFP, the same PDF document prints beautifully on HP 4000, HP 1300, HP 1320. All other documents print well on the suspect HP 4345MFP. The firmware has been updated to 20070613 version.

It sounds like a driver problem. Try replacing the driver for this printer on the printers folder, using the HP LaserJet Series II. With this driver, try again the PDF file and see if it prints correctly.

Copying is very light while scan print fine

Unfortunately that is typical. You can set the copies to be darker, but often that just introduces gray areas that should be white.

Better to just scan and then print the pdf.

Welcome to FixYa!

You might want to check your printer settings.
  1. In the program being used for printing, click File , and then click Print . The Print window opens.
  2. Make sure the appropriate product is selected, and then click Preferences or Properties . The Preferences/Properties window opens.
  3. Click the Printing Shortcuts tab. Consider modifying some or all of the options in the Printing Shortcuts menu to increase print quality.
    • Print quality : If the quality of the printouts is not acceptable, try increasing the print quality.
    • Paper type : If one of the options matches the paper type exactly, select it instead of Automatic .
    • Paper size : Make sure that this option matches the paper loaded in the printer.
To see additional options, click the Advanced tab, and then click Advanced Features . The Advanced Features window opens. Consider changing the following option:Ink volume : Adjust the amount of ink that prints on a page. For darker images (more ink), drag the slider to the right.

I hope this will help.

try to change the properties of the printer. Usually it has a configuration to increase the printing quality.

And also, look for the configuration for ink drying wait time. Change it to long.

If you dont have any problems with your cartridge. then i think you should need some adjustments from your configuration.

well, i hope this works.. :)
Thank you.

My printer prints pale inks on the margins

If it is Laser Printer then you need to replace the DRUM in Cartridge or need to replace the cartridge. Incase if it is InkJet printer you need head cleaning. Else replace the cartridges.

Printing pale

Make sure your printer is not set up as "draft" (see printing settings/properties). In addition try forcing the print quality to "best".
