Question about Frigidaire PLEB30T9DC Electric Double Oven

1 Answer

Odd loud fan type noise

We just had our new double oven installed yesterday. I made dinner and all was fine and normal. Everything was turned off. I did notice it was taking a while to cool down but left the room. About an hour later the oven started making a very loud racket... like a fan but not like it was sounding earlier. It lasted about a minute. We pressed all the buttons we could and nothing help. We opened the doors... the inside was still a little warm... too warm to be confortable to the touch. Then the noise went away. What is this? Should we be concerned?

What you are describing is the cooling fan. That fan will come on to keep the electronic control panel cool. It is normal for tat to come on even if your done with the oven. I dont think is should be as loud as you describe. I would try the oven again and if it is still loud I would call for service because it is new. That fan will also come on when you use the self clean cycle.

Jenn-Air Maytag double wall oven makes loud buzzing noise

There is a cooling fan for upper and lower oven they run at the same time no matter which oven in use it is fed from the oven manager no way to trouble shoot without pulling oven out some models use same fan for both so you could have a blower on hand remove back panels to access fans take a lead off fan to determine which one noisey

Whirlpool double oven has a loud fan when baking

There will be some noise from the fan, but it should not be excessive, if it is really loud, then this is an indication that the fan is failing, and should be replaced ASAP.

Noise from fan when electric oven is first turned on

The fans are not normally repairable, but there is no problem obtaining replacements.
On a double oven, there are usually 2 fans fitted.
There is an external cooling fan usually fitted on the top of the oven, you would have to remove the top cover of oven to access it, and possibly the rear panel as well.
Then there is the fan fitted in the main oven compartment.
If you open the oven door as it is working, you should be able to determine if it is the fan oven or the external cooling fan that is the cause of the problem.
If you determine it is the fan in the oven that is noisy, then to undo the fan blade assy, you have unscrew the nut clockwise to remove it. as opposed to the normal way of undoing a nut.
Please rate my fixya solution.
Thanks.

I have an electrolux icon double wall oven. I turned on the self-clean function for 3hrs and it making a very loud noise during the cleaning process. Is that normal?

yes, if the humming is not the loud sound then the fan may need some lubrication or if it is tripping the circuit it will need replacing , but if it seems like it is a viberating noise from the fan , then it could be that its bearings are bad , but the whole fan motor would still need to be replaced , but if it sounds like it just may be a loose fan motor , then tightening up the screws on the motor would stop the vibrating sound and or the fan blades from scraping metal( another sound you may be hearing )
